Eons ago, at the dawn of time were two brothers, Agzara and Valkar. Agzara was an archer of great skill, picking off foes that would have flanked the scythe-wielding Valkar in the heat of battle. The brothers were unstoppable and soon brought order to a universe of chaos. But peace would not last for eternity as they hoped.

Valkar saw the work that he and his brother had done and turned his eyes to other universes. Behind his brother's back, Valkar the Mighty tore the veil between this world and the next and began enforcing his own will. When Agzara learned what his brother had done, he was enraged and sought Valkar out.

When the Burning Arrow found the Crimson Hammer, his heart wept at the change his brother had gone through. Where once Valkar fought with strength, precision, and honor, Agzara found only a beast covered in gore and viscera from the mortals that opposed Valakar's rule over their universe. With a heavy heart, Agzara admonished his brother and begged him to leave this universe and return to their own.

"Brother!" Agzara begged. "Cease this madness! We have a realm of our that we need only maintain order; a universe that already sings our praises for what we have done for them. There is no need for us to enter other universes so that we can pacify them. Come home and rest, as we are destined to as warriors."

"Peace for warriors like us? You must be joking, brother! Look upon these mortals and how they lack even the most basic ability to do what they must; do you you not pity their weakness? Is it not a warrior's duty to fight until a worthy opponent has struck them down?"

Agzara averted his eyes as he summoned his axe. "If you will not come home willingly, then you have given me no choice but to end you."

And so the brothers began their arduous duel, axe striking scythe as the sparks filled the night sky. Blow after blow, the heavens shook from the sorrowful swings of Agzara and the mad sweeps of Valkar. The immortals never tired and their battle last for five whole days. On the sixth day, Agzara took his bow and fired an arrow cloaked with divine fire at Valkar, and The Warlord was rendered immobile.

Summoning the last of his energy, Agzara liquified the ground around his brother and began to surround him, adding pieces and keeping the center of the stone hot. He kept adding stone to his brother's prison until even the intense heat of Valkar's prison could not reach the surface of the rock. With Agzara keeping his brother in place, three nameless gods of the universe Valkar sought to conquer gave their power to strengthen the prison, adding layers of water, air, and life to constantly flow and change around The Drinker of Blood to prevent him from escaping.

Agzara thanked the fledging deities for their sacrifice and returned the prison to the veil his brother had weakened. However, Valkar's prison could not enter the perfect world he and his brother had brought about, and so Agzara returned to his world to gather his daughter, Nolmara the Radiant, and his son, Karmuk the Vigilant to watch over their uncle's prison while he kept order in his own universe.

Returning to his home, Agzara took a seventh day to mourn the loss of his brother and remember him by changing part of his jet black coat to the bright crimson that once anointed his brother.

With the veil between worlds thinned, Agzara's other daughter, Kethra the Wise chose to join Nolmara and Karmuk in their vigil by recording each passing day and every pattern so that her family may be ever prepared to fight her uncle.

And so Valkar in his prison, waiting for the day when the magic keeping him imprisoned until the day when the magics of Agzara and his descendants wanes so that he may escape and conquer that which he considers his by right.
