The Eye of the Sun

Fountain of Gold ( part one)

By Ocusan MPublished 4 months ago 13 min read

There it was the domed City looking like a hourglass of sand from the peephole of space. It took years of negotiations to build a small city of clay stone within the silicon dome. The soul purpose was for protection as it was a entire city for women. It wasn’t made for Amazon women, just survivors with a dreams. A dream to have such a superb shelter where no women would have to fend for themselves in a world with supernatural forces preying upon innocent females. Woman flocked from all over the world, victims of domestic violence, others being outcast from war. The entrance to the city was feasible only from the eye hole above since the walls to the dome had no doors. Parachuting down took expertise as only the willing endeavored the jump. If the opening was missed, one would bounce off the shield as a trampoline, falling to soft sands below. If requested, a rope could be lowered while wearing a harness. Elders preferred to enter in this fashion, while the young enjoyed the sky dive. The outside world couldn’t see the dome as it had another shield of invisibility where woman only heard of the city through a secret order of nuns of a secular church. The head mistress of the dome was a old lioness who never seemed to age past forty. Her golden hair swept into a crown of crystals & feathers bound by leather clothed in brown suede. Entering the miraculous structure was like a gift from the goddess with a soft wind of echoing glass chimes of dream catchers among the silence of the desert. A new member was referred to as a new chapter having each female considered a chapter to the holy book. A welcoming party would take the beginner into the shrine temple for orientation & prayers. It was a beautiful sight to be accepted into the sacred order where the clay chapel seemed brand new yet resembled something ancient. Their were no ceilings in the city as sunlight streamed through the silicon sky as The lioness of wisdom stood at the altar preaching a written oracle with arms open in a welcoming gesture. Today we initiate our four new members with a blessing of enchantment as each of you will be baptized in the healing waters of oblivion that are flowing within the fountain of the sun! Each of the four females knelt by the fountain as woman clothed in brown togas took jugs of water to wash & cleanse. The lioness went on.. May your old life be washed away with the divine energy of the miracle water.. The woman were overjoyed with renewal as the ceremony continued. An audience of watching woman clapped as they had become a army of sisters welcoming one’s who would need teaching & guidance. Some whispered to each other, Maahes is very beautiful today! Shhh child, one must not utter during coronation! An elder encouraged. She was holding a torch while the water of life renewed. One girl who came from a war torn country was crying in gratitude as she wondered how the fountain water could glisten as if filtered with gold. It was indeed a golden pond that produced gold dust from an unknown source. Then Maahes spoke.. The ceremony is over, go now to a feast prepared in their honor! Everyone is invited.. Ushered to a giant room their were tables of clay benches serving as a mess hall for the city of women. Bowls of vegetable soup was served with rolls & salads. The young girl from the war zone could see a fireplace that warmed her spirit as ale was served among the smiles of the cherished family of females. Meeting new friends became important as she had so much to learn. She was told only a little information about what to expect as they were not to communicate to the outside world. Upon meeting other woman, she learned that all had no living relatives & had broken all ties to anyone suspicious of their disappearance.. Their were children, yet only females while a secret dome for men was rumored to exist. Walking through the celebration Maahes was suddenly standing next to young Rasha the war escapess. Touching her shoulder lightly she looked down upon the girl with her solemn eyes. I’m so happy you have joined the sisterhood. Thank you dear leader. Rashas eyes glimmered . Tomorrow you may choose what school of training you wish to endeavor. We have so many trades offered. I’ve heard about the pottery school as well as classes in art & literature. Yes, we also have history, music & dance classes as well as culinary & textiles. I can’t believe I am here! Being young & abandoned was hard enough, this girl was also foreign. The first thing you will need is a sponsor. Someone to guide your adapting & council your needs. There are many women here who you can choose as a sponsor. Each morning we have a meeting where you can meet & hear the voices of your sisters to help your development of our ecosystem of our inner world. What is the name of this world leader? We call it, The eye of the Sun. I shall teach you more if you wish to read our scrolls handed down by the old ones. How can the city be old & new at the same time? Many archeological artifacts were brought here as the water of life restored the past, joining with the new environment as the water is a gift from extraterrestrial life.. Maahes face stiffened as Rasha examined hanging dream catchers upon the clay walls. I should like to learn more about the ancient aliens who have shaped this castle in the sand. In time, you will. Maahes became silent as the room emptied & darkened lit by only burning torches. Rasha wondered outside to where her welcoming kit contained a ticket for a self driving cabbie. It was a small bubble type apparatus where she typed in her address as they flew down the dusty streets. It felt so secure riding through the city as she couldn’t wait to see her dwelling. Stepping out under torch lit lampposts she entered a clay building with a interior of bamboo & wicker. A winding staircase took her up to the third floor where she found her door yet someone was also there.. A small being crouched against the wall in a hooded robe. Maa, Maa.. It cried in the dim lights. Rasha bent over the being whom she thought was crying out for Maahes. Taking a small face in her hands she looked it in it’s face. Maahes isn’t here, may I help? The being was sobbing & resembled a tiny dwarf. Rasha wondered if was male or female. Who might you be child? I am Au, a resident of this city too! Why of course you are! There there, don’t cry, I’ll take care of you. Taking the dwarf by his three fingers Rasha opened her door with her key. Au find light! The dark room was lit as the being knew where the lamp switch was. The oil used throughout the town was precious as it was refined from asteroids brought down from the heavens. There in the room was a bed, dresser & sink looking much like a room in the Wild West. See Au know much about city under bubble! The two were sitting upon a single bed. Are you a boy or girl? I am girl, boy not allowed in segregated town! Yes, of course, is there a meaning of the name Au? Au is abbreviation for gold! I bring gold to ancient waters as I am a gold dragon. She turned to reveal her back that held folded wings within her garment. A small opening was there in the fabric where slowly she emerged her wings.. Exclaiming in surprise, Oh my.. They didn’t tell me about any dragons, don’t you have a dwelling too? Yes but I get mad at Ag & Cu! We share same hut! And they are? Silver & Copper! Don’t you know you chemistry! How far away is your hut? Not far, you want ride to see town from sky? I’m too heavy for you.. No not! My wings span out to lift heavy rocks to turn to gold.. Rasha looked at the fragile face of her new friend whom it was amusing conversing with. I can show you whole city! Come on.. I could use a midnight snack.. Ok we find 24 hour coffee cafe. Giggling down the staircase the two found the street. There Au unfolded her wings as she displayed wings resembling a bird. Taking Rashas hands they flew up

Together slowly they spanned over the city. Feeling as if she were in a fairy tale or a part of Greek Mythology overwhelmed the young Rasha. Soon they glided down over a pink neon sign glowing in the night air. It was a cafe where a few other females sat sipping cappuccino under a full moon. The tables were outdoors in sandpits where a waitress dressed in a silver kalasiris took their order. The menu had many types of syrups to add to coffee in various fruit flavors. There was also rolls with vegan cheese, homemade from almonds. Different spreads were listed from vegetables such as radishes, artichokes, onions, carrots, spinach, & sweet potatoes. I forget to bring money! Au exclaimed after biting down on a sugar cube. I thought you could manifest gold? Only for the fountain of healing as gold here is sacred. Well I have a little money until I get a job. You will get paid in the trade school, my lady. Rasha paid for the delicious snacks as she caught her eye upon a foreign obstacle. Why is there a manhole in the city? It is not a manhole but a doomsday hatch! Are there tunnels? Yes, only used if city attacked! A doomsday hatch.. Where does it lead to? Underground tunnels that wind to a bunker much like a salt mine. The coffee was causing drowsiness as Au picked up Rasha flying her home. Looking down this time she noticed a large field of a farm aligned with fruit trees that the woman worked during the day. Will you return to your dwelling? Rasha asked as they found the small room. Au looked sad at the thought. Pulling out a mesh rope from her purse, Rasha held out a makeshift hammock. Oh! Au love hammock! I one time good soldier girl.. Au took nails from the pictures on the walls to secure the bed. Funny how the tiny mouse like creature reminded her of the story of Thumbelina tucked in the pouch of the hammock. She blew out the lamplight & drifted to sleep. The following day started with an alarm. There was only one window to see that outside was a dust storm. How does a storm get into the dome? Rasha asked as they viewed outside. Last night it was clear, it must have be a solar storm! The alarm sounded like a conch horn. They must close the top, as I am needed to seal it. Au jumped out the window waving goodbye, as Rasha wanted to see how dragons were used to close the dome. She had a few more tickets to use to get to the school. The alarm horn stopped as she found her class after more soup at the mess hall. Choosing candle making as her craft & archeology as her field of study. The madam teaching candle design stood on a small stage arena where standing next to her were figures of wax cast beings dressed in costumes from distant time periods. Sitting on the sculptured auditorium steps Rasha exclaimed, I signed up for making candles for the church not museum mannequins! The class of women laughed. One girl turned her head whispering, They are displayed for the advanced class, no worries, we only learn basic candle dipping here! The madam was holding drip candles as she demonstrated how to create the figure by dipping the wick into bubbling vats of hot wax. Twirling Twirling, until it takes shape, then put into a container with steaming dry ice. Voila! The glass container smoked & cooled the desert air room. Soft fans spun from crystal batteries from above. Now someone must volunteer to make a drip candle. The girl who knew about the displayed wax figures raised her hand. Alright, come up. She smiled while making her art as the candle formed. She was Arabic girl wearing features of a head covering as she spoke to the madam in question. Why are all the candles ivory white? Can there be colors added? Yes we have Blue dyes for Winter Solstice, purple for Spring Equinox , green for Summer Solstice & red for fall Equinox. These colors will be added as the course continues. The class clapped at the proclamation. The young girl satisfied at the answer put her creation into the cooling bin, returning to the class. Learning how to make drip candles took time as chores such as lifting barrels of hot wax took teamwork. After lunch of more soup & flavored tea, Rasha took her afternoon class. She had a fascination for ancient history dreaming of the past people while chiseling on a ruin stone in some far away civilization.. Miss RaSha! Are you sleeping? The instructor was gazing at her as the head mistress. No, I was only daydreaming as the tablets are memorizing.. The class was seated on a long stone table where an alien type of tablet was laid out of lighted fiberglass. Each ruin letter & symbol could be read like braille where psychically the language could be understood. Yes so it is, the language also gives visions.. Did any of you see a vision? I saw a raven pecking his beak to write the symbols. The same Arabic girl Rasha noticed was in her class. The girls laughed at her image. What did you see Rasha? Placing her hands down she closed her eyes as she envisioned a Viking ship sailing on high seas. Vikings! Why yes, yes, ruins have a history of old Norse mythology. What will we do next throw some bones? All eyes were on the class cutie as she rolled her eyes. The room suddenly became thick in incense. The city itself had a certain way of maintaining a slight religious order when feelings became disarrayed. Incense making was in the above room. Rasha sat transfixed as she felt more within the ruins. I see a boy sailing a sea of ethereal coming to the city searching for a bride.. All eyes were now upon Rasha as she read the inscription like a Ouija board. Just one young man or how many? The teacher asked with her silver hair & turquoise amulet broach upon a black robe. Swirling emotions like waves on a sea stopped Rasha from seeing more. She fell back in her chair yet remembering the face of a boy she hadn’t seen before. Only one.. A tiny bird chirped from the door of a Cuckoo clock. Alright, we will resume tomorrow, class dismissed. Receiving a small pouch of coins as a token for learning participation, Rasha hurried home. There, waiting for her was Au. They announced at lunch the dome had been secured as the storm lifted. Yes, me & my dragon companions all closed the hatch. It’s a pity you can’t see that far. Clouds cover the top as participation of steam condensation can sometimes leak in. It’s all steampunk to me.. I have something to show you, a new invention we dragons put together. Where is it? Back home in the inventors room. I didn’t know they had this, is there a class for inventions? Yes but top secret, there is talk of time travel I overheard among Maahes & her associates.. What invention do you want to show me? You shall soon see. They were outside again holding hands as they spun off over the city. Landing in the suburbs was a small house. Be extra quiet, I don’t want Ag or Cu to wake up. He lead her to a small storage barn where inside were many contraptions unknown. Leading her to a wooden object that resembled a spinning wheel. Sitting upon the wheel her little friend began to weave a cloth invisible to her eyes. I can’t see what your making! Because it’s invisible yarn spun from a fiber of invisibility spun glass! How was it manufactured? I don’t know it came as a gift delivered to our door without an address. How did you know what it was? I didn’t, I just felt a texture in the bag & took it over to the wheel. I then felt for the fabric discovering a garment that I tried on. Au demonstrated putting on the garment while his body became invisible. See, you can’t see me now! How did you know you were invisible? Walking to a mirror he shouted, I could only see my feet while wearing the hooded coat! Then I knew.. What use could this be for a city secluded under the sun? I’m not sure yet covering ourselves could be mysterious! With this fiber, they already hide the dome. Does Maahes know about this? She might, as I not sure who sent me the package. We mouse dragons sometimes are gifted when saving the city from storms. Once there was a tornado that got in. You don’t say. The dim room of inventions was suddenly interrupted by the Silver dragon Ag. Flapping her wings & wearing a silver garment she stood higher than Au.
