If there comes a day when that which causes your heart to beat can no longer move you, that which makes you angry can no longer make you angry, that which makes you sad can no longer make you cry, then you will know what this time and this life have given you and what are you doing for it?

Growth is the factor that you get in return for paying and providing for the cost that is required.

This famous quote by Haruki Murakami deeply defines the evolution of life, and the shifts in states of mind or emotions and has a wise word regarding life experience.

Certainly, in life, people pass through a number of feelings, and when such feelings no longer evoke intensive reactions, a person can turn inward, and reveal the blessedness deep inside.

This sentence informs that as time passes and gaining more experiences people become more rational and less emotional or in other words get ‘cold-blooded’, they do not respond to any stimuli with high frequencies of emotions.

Suppose the process in which objects that previously elicited our joy, interest, resentment or sorrow gradually give way to objects with a different emotional appeal, thus, people do not become insensitive and their hearts do not grow shallow, but their intelligence is increased and life becomes full.

In the course of growing up, one has to pay a lot, endure a lot, and learn how to handle emotions and feelings. It also leads to change in the heart which becomes stronger and accommodates change and pressures from outside.

At the same time, I think the thinking is also more balanced and can not be controlled by emotions any longer.

But this does not mean freeing oneself from emotions that is, we become heartless or nonemotional but are at a higher level of emotional intelligence. It is possible to effectively manage life’s challenges while attaining and experiencing positive psychological states such as peace.

Therefore, in an overwhelming and noisy life, a person should strive for inner harmony and calmness which is the ultimate knowledge.
