The Dream bridge

''A Character Discovers they can Communicate with an Alien Race through their Dreams''

By AbbasPublished about a year ago 3 min read

Alyssa had always been a vivid dreamer. Her nights were filled with strange landscapes, impossible cities, and people she had never met but felt she somehow knew. She often woke up feeling like she had lived an entire lifetime while she slept. But lately, her dreams had taken a turn for the surreal.

It started one night with a vision of a sky filled with two moons, one glowing a soft blue and the other a fiery red. Alyssa stood on a rocky shore, the ocean’s waves lapping at her feet. The water was unlike any she had seen—shimmering, almost alive with color.

As she gazed at the moons, Alyssa felt a presence beside her. She turned to find a figure standing there, tall and slender, with skin that seemed to glow with an inner light. The being’s eyes were large and expressive, filled with an intelligence that both intrigued and unsettled her. The figure spoke, but not with words. Instead, she felt the communication in her mind, a series of emotions and images that coalesced into meaning.

**"You are the bridge,"** the being conveyed, its thoughts resonating in Alyssa’s consciousness. **"We have waited long for one who can hear us."**

Alyssa was stunned, struggling to understand what was happening. She tried to speak, but no words came out. Instead, her thoughts formed into questions. **"Who are you? Where am I?"**

The being responded with a flood of images—vast star systems, worlds teeming with life, and a history that spanned millennia. **"We are the Iluran,"** it communicated. **"Our world is far from yours, beyond the reach of your technology. But in dreams, distance is irrelevant. We have long searched for a mind capable of bridging our realities. You are that mind."**

Alyssa’s heart raced. The realization that she was communicating with an alien race—through her dreams, no less—was overwhelming. **"Why me?"** she asked.

**"Your mind is attuned to the frequencies of the universe,"** the Iluran explained. **"You possess the rare ability to connect with us across the void. Through you, we can share knowledge, understanding. But there is more—we need your help."**

The landscape around them shifted, and Alyssa found herself standing in a city that seemed to float above the ground, its architecture defying all logic. The Iluran’s emotions grew somber, tinged with a sense of urgency. **"Our world is in peril. A cosmic event threatens to destroy our civilization. We have the knowledge to avert disaster, but we require resources that your world possesses. Through you, we can communicate with your people, form an alliance."**

Alyssa felt a surge of responsibility. She had always known her dreams were special, but this was beyond anything she could have imagined. **"How can I help? I’m just one person."**

**"One person can make all the difference,"** the Iluran replied. **"We will guide you, teach you to harness your abilities. Together, we can save both our worlds."**

When Alyssa awoke the next morning, the dream was as vivid in her mind as if she had just lived it. She knew it hadn’t been just a dream—somehow, impossibly, it had been real. She could still feel the Iluran’s presence, a faint connection lingering at the edges of her consciousness.

She realized her life had changed forever. She was now the bridge between two worlds, a link between humanity and an alien race. The responsibility was immense, but so was the potential. As she got out of bed, a sense of purpose settled over her. The future was uncertain, but she knew one thing for sure: her dreams were no longer just her own. They were a doorway to something far greater.
