The Diary of Mishelle Gold
Wednesday 1st June

Good Morning Diary,
It’s been another busy few days. I've sold only the one house in Florida — $3 million to a lovely couple, she’s pregnant with twins and he’s just started a very nice job with nice pay — good luck to them both! Jack has settled on being the Headmaster of his school but said he won’t be touring anymore, having too much to learn and do on his father’s estate (which he’s already started, reading through the “Inventory”). Mum is so excited about us moving into the “Big House”, she can hardly contain herself. She said she’s going to give up her dancing and come and help me (which I will appreciate, especially at the start), but whether she can live with us there — I’m not sure. Jack says to ask his father.
The children are excited but very much into their own lives at the moment, which I’m really rather pleased about because I want them to have their own lives, while they are young. The youngest has decided he wants to go into Law, which means a good few years studying at Uni. Let’s hope he sticks to it. Julie is coming with me to Paris for the Fashion Show, her designs are getting better and I’m wondering whether to make her Sarah’s assistant, but I’ll ask Sarah first. Sarah is getting married!!! They’ve been living together for years but have finally decided to make it legal — I’m so pleased. She just wants a small ceremony at the registry office with just her family and close friends. I’m fine with that and have offered to do her wedding dress — whatever she wants — as a wedding gift. She’s designing it now. How lovely!
Lady May is coming round this afternoon to help ‘steer’ me through what is expected from a Countess, because quite frankly, I don’t have a clue. I’ve got her favourite herbal tea, peppermint, and a few little cakes. I’ve even got a new notebook to write things down in, but she says that’s sensible because it’s such a ‘life-change’.
We’ve got Jack’s father over for dinner tomorrow evening to ’get to know each other’. I’ve got the children coming too and have asked mum, but mum’s not got back to me yet. I’m going to do a family dinner — roast with veg and a fruit and cake for afters, nothing fancy, but his father seems quite a ‘normal’ chap. I don’t really know him that well so it’ll be nice for all of us. I know the children have got a lot of questions so I hope they don’t wear him out.
Jack mentioned that we might need to get a new wardrobe each, with ‘formal’ clothes for ‘formal’ occasions. Now that’s a question I’ll need to ask — what is a ‘formal occasion’?
To go into a lighter subject — I’m not leaving my Ragdoll cat with anyone. Spicy is coming with us to the “Big House”. I’ve had her since she was 5 weeks old and she is beautiful, a little spoiled (of course) but a lovely character. It always surprises me how well she gets on with Jack’s dog, “Woof” (honestly, he could have thought of a more original name!). A beautiful Big 6 year old Alsatian but very well trained. When the children were small, I was nervous but the animals and children get on so well (what was I worrying about?). Well, they are both coming with us, I don't care what anyone says!!!

I was taken on a tour of the stables at the Estate. What beautiful horses, some of them are race horses. I’ve been told that I can ride at any time, just to tell the groom. I need lessons but would love to, I’ve always loved horses although I am a little nervous of them. They have 2 Shire’s who were used on the farms, but of course it’s all machines now, but they do show them at the Horse shows, and they have won a few rosettes too. Beautiful. I think this “new life” will be very nice.
Well, let’s get ready for Lady May and tomorrow’s dinner. Will write again soon diary.
