A micro ✨cautionary tale✨
Having fulfilled her purpose, she now decays into our darkness.
Watching from glass, our fingertips trace the womb she once was.
"She was ours," I whisper.
(But there's only silence from you.)
Between us, there's an understanding we were smart enough to believe we'd go first...yet stupid enough to resist change.
"Is anything real?"
"She was real."
"And the rest?"
"Power, greed…delusion."
Together, we realize we premeditated this. Some of our wealth fuels our getaway...the rest burns along with her.
“Were we only a dream?”
(Please…let us have only been dreams.)
"Goodbye, sweet Earth."
And our hearts...they decompose with her.

I met Jason when I was five years old. I could say that I loved him from the moment I saw him. He was so handsome to me and I felt in awe by his presence. When they introduced him as the new kid in school, I wanted to be his friend right away. I remember it like it was yesterday. I remember his smile and how he didn't seem shy. He appeared confident and ready to learn. I waved at him and said "hello," before anyone else could even say a word. He sat next to me, and I asked him if he wanted to be friends. He looked so happy as he said, "Yes!"

What the heck Thavien, I though a couple lost their child and was mourning, where did he get all the horror stuff from. you could actually write a whole other story from Thavien's summary. Such wonderful perspectives on this media. But yes, mother earth is crying. Very well done and thought provoking. Thavien has me saying HMMMMM!

I thought this was going in a completely different direction. I must apologize. I thought this was about a couple that never wanted kids in the 1st place, so they devised a fraud-like scheme to sue for physiological, hormonal, and emotional damages, by getting pregnant and then poisoning the unborn infant. I thought they were watching the cremation of their unborn, premeditated murdered (disguised to look like an accident), daughter being put in an urn. And only did the weight of their selfish, greedy, actions guilt trip hit them once they've fully gone through with it. Sure, they now have tons of money to never work again and go anywhere they want, but they don't have their integrity and respect for life, which means that they inherently devalued their own lives. Sorry for making this a different, if not more gruesome type of darkness than what it currently is. I don't think my mind's currently right, right now. The sick things people will do. Still, it saddens me that we're hurting our planet this way. It really does.

Yep. It feels like this is the inevitable end to us here on earth.. we were never good earthlings. Somehow our evolution meant earth's devolution.. we couldn't find a better way. Great story! And love the message
