They are patiently waiting for nightfall, the tension mounting and wishing the deed was done. Anxiety heightens with every minute, closer to their goal, their promise.
Evie looks around the room wondering if everyone is as nervous as she is. Will anyone chicken out? Will she be the one to do so, thereby letting her baby girl down?
Two days ago her daughter was found strangled in a farmer’s field. Everyone knew the guilty party but the police have no proof.
Tonight, the vigilante group she has gathered here will help her see justice is done.
She’ll watch him die!

I was challenged to write a drabble of the word ‘nightfall'.
Wikipedia defines a drabble as follows :
A drabble is a short work of fiction of precisely one hundred words in length. The purpose of the drabble is brevity, testing the author's ability to express interesting and meaningful ideas in a confined space.

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.

Excellent work, keep writing!
So happy she got revenge! I feel so sad for her daughter though.
Good one Colleen, I’ve been wanting to try these dabbles. 😊
Oh dear… a tragic tale! I hope they leave justice to the Lord!
Exceptional writting.
