The conquest

This story begins in the medieval period a Time known for its creativity in murder and torture they live a young youthful boy in a kingdom where 5 percent of them are born with magic and those that were gifted with this ability were forced to work for the king as mages either you work for the king or you and the members of your family are killed those with magic are tied up and hung by their tongue while the families are cooked alive.

The boy called romulus has always been told by his mother that he was of noble blood but his  reality is there is little to no difference between him and normal townies his mom told him he was special growing up but he never believed because which mom does not tell their little kid they are special growing up he has always been a castaway because he did not fit in with his pairs  he had this unique mark on his face that make other call him a freak he has always been told by his family that he would grow into it but he never believed they told him his father had the same mark while he was younger his father was a noble when he was alive  he was known for his love for women it can be said that their was no family that his dad has not slept with one of their daughter this promiscuity lead to his death he was caught with one of the king's doxy he was paraded around the town  naked then he was  devitalized in public then tied to two horses and dragged till he tore into equal half .their was nothing he could do he was always know as  the son of the disgraced noble.

There comes a time when every child Male or female was brought to the palace romulus has always been prepared to this day he jogs around the city and plays with his wooden sword striking anything he sees he wants to be the strongest and fastest among his pairs. They are tested to see if they are gifted, this time it was for Romulus and his pairs to be tested when they were all gathered together they would be tested for a week those that lack magical ability are sent to join the king's guard Romulus has always wanted to serve his king and make a better image for his family. While the kid was gathered around he walked around trying to make friends but most people around were avoiding him because of the mark on his face except this girl who he had never seen before so he walked to her and asked her for her name at first she ignored him but she later told him her name was Athena that she is from the outskirt town unknown to him she would be a part of his conquest. First day of training was the test of abidance they were told to run to the top of the mountain  and back the  were  graded on how quick they completed the task romulus was the fastest among them but he knew that in the test to come he would be out of his depth so  while others were sleeping he was training on his swordsmanship because the next test was swordsmanship  while he wa training he lost tract of time and  trained through the night he only had about 2 hours of sleep so he was exhausted  the following morning  they were paired in groups of two and he was paired with dimitrios  who is well known for his height and craftsmanship  he has been training  since his was little by his brother who is alternate in command of the kings guard he Is well known and loved by his pairs unlike romulus  when the fight began he struck first but romulus  block and the brute strength behind the strike sent him backward he was surprised on how someone his age was that strong  while he was battling  with him self dimitrios  was laughing  calling him a weakling he got angry and charged at him only to be knocked down on his ass he was in awe and was like after all those hours of training  he was knocked down under nanoseconds his bout with dimitrios  caught the eye of one of the trainers who  was starting took a keen interest in his progression he saw the fight in his eyes and told his fellow trainers that he sees  romulus having a higher ceiling than dimitrios  but they all laughed at him  the day ended with romulus going to the shore of the palace and crying his eyes out while he was crying athena came from behind him and was like are you going to keep following their script  for your life or at you going to pick the pen and write your own destiny hearing this he stood up and told her that he would do everything in his power to never  let what happened that day repeat itself
