THE COLLAPSE OF WORLD TRADE CENTER

THE COMPLETE PHYSICS

By RhodesPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

These panels are held together by spandrel plates. Engineers connected the panels in ascending order of height to ensure stiffness in the external columns. Kangaroo cranes played a major role in speeding up construction of the World Trade Center. The crane climbs up by activating the piston to increase its height. A one-side flex support structure helps the crane rest in position. The crane attaches frames to the base to stabilize it. Neighboring kangaroo cranes assist in assembling the frame lock. Spray foam insulation protects the building from fire for an hour or two. The core of the tower bears the majority of the gravity load. Columns in the core are welded together, and i-beam girds are attached at each floor. The collapse of the World Trade Center was a sequential collapse of its floors. Floor connections are important to understand the collapse.
