Three mad scientists had been working non-stop to try to find a solution to put an end to the peak oil and energy shortage issues. The problem was getting worse by the day, and it seemed like they were running out of time. If they couldn't find an answer soon, their entire organization would collapse under its own weight. They need energy to keep things rolling, and they need it now more than ever before.
It was one thing when this crisis started, but now that everyone knew about it, no one wanted to lend them money anymore. A new idea came up to get some kind of funding: Cold Fusion Generator Prototype – the most innovative way for the future of our planet!
It was a dark and stormy night in the forest when an owl flew out from a tree all of a sudden. The barn owl is wise and has been there since the beginning of time. So, he knows the secret to everything, and he even knows the secret to building a cold fusion generator. It swooped down on a scientist who was running with two books under his arm.
“What are you doing?” The barn owl asked.
“I am going to save the world! I have these plans of making cold fusion generators that will use hydrogen atoms for energy! And it doesn't even cost anything! If you help me, we can get rid of our dependence on oil and solve world hunger simultaneously. What do you say?”
The barn owl didn't answer right away but stayed silent for a long while before answering: “I can't help you. You are trying to use science for evil.”
The scientist was so surprised that he dropped the books on the ground and could only say, “What? It's not evil! I am saving humanity! There is nothing wrong with this.”
The owl looked at him sternly before flying off into the night.
The barn owl knew that the scientists were up to no good. They wanted to create a cold fusion generator to never have to worry about energy shortages again. But the barn owl had other plans; he knows that humans are selfish by nature. They only think of themselves, not caring about how their actions affect the environment.
Scientist: “We've finally done it! We've created a prototype of cold fusion that will put an end to energy shortages!”
Barn Owl: “Oh, really? And what are you going to do with all this energy?”
Scientist: “We're going to create a new world where we never have to worry about energy shortages again!”
Barn Owl: “Hahaha, I don't think so. You, humans, are selfish by nature, and you'll never be able to change. You'll release this prototype and cause an earthquake that will shake the entire Earth”.
Scientist: “What?! No, we would never do that!”
Barn Owl: “Yes, you will. It's only a matter of time until you do”.
The mad scientists were exasperated; the owl knew them too well. They kidnapped the barn owl to help them create the prototype of cold fusion. The barn owl offered his help with creating cold fusion to help solve the energy crisis that humans face today. In return, the scientists promised to use cold fusion responsibly and only for good causes. Before he could finish his work, he was taken prisoner by the mad scientists and locked up in a room full of toxic waste. But the barn owl used his mental superpowers to transport himself to another parallel dimension and managed to escape in time.
After getting rid of the owl, the scientists created a prototype of cold fusion. As predicted, it was inevitable for them to release it to the world without any regard for its consequences. The big explosion created an earthquake so powerful that it shook the entire Earth and initiated massive climate change throughout the whole planet.
It didn't take long until all plant life went extinct and oxygen levels decreased at such an alarming rate that humans could no longer survive on this planet anymore.
As a result, most of the human race died off. However, a few survivors could find refuge on other planets in the solar system and even beyond. The barn owl took action. He did his best to save his fellow man from extinction. Even managed to contact other planets' governments, pleading with them to save the rest of the human race from a potential nuclear holocaust.
Then, he flew off with his family to start a safe haven. All intelligent creatures, some surviving humans included, could go there if they wanted to survive after Earth becomes uninhabitable.
Most humans stayed on Earth, hoping that the mad scientists would find a solution. The owl gave up and left Earth behind for good, knowing that humans were just too selfish and unwise by nature. They could never change their ways, and the cold fusion explosion was inevitable after all. One week later, the entire planet exploded, and only the chosen ones who had flown to the owl's haven survived.
