She comes to me, bright and warm; mug in hand.
How can she carry something her own size like this?

But still she comes, grip steady as my own hand.
The richly aromatic liquid beckons to me; my truest vice.
I reach out; take it gently. The kindly fairy nods.
First one sip, then another; maybe make the next cup sweeter?
We seat ourselves - a table by the window.

And we exchange silent glances as the rain falls soft.

I reach out for the coffee pot set before us.
I drink until it’s empty. Then, the coffee fairy leaves.
About the Creator
Megan Baker (Left Vocal in 2023)
A fun spin on her last name, Baker enjoyed creating "Baker's Dozen" lists for various topics! She also wrote candidly about her mental health & a LOT of fiction. Discontinued writing on Vocal in 2023 as Vocal is a fruitless venture.
