The Cock and the Raging Bull Story

It’s a Vintage Tale Transcending Sands of Times!

By Madhu Goteti Published 4 years ago Updated 4 years ago 3 min read

In the early reckless hour of a fine new morn, a cock nosed up to announce the arrival of a new dawn.

A bull in it’s own wanderings, sprang up from nowhere, and for some unknown reason, moved by the Cock’s side, unannounced!

The Cock’s achy heart, ‘in it’s uprisings of a mournful song, pleased the bull, as he intently listened to the Cock’s song.

And as destiny w’d have it,the strong muscles of the bull, lended the cock, a life loaned o’er greater ardors; not to mention alongside those added charms.

By and by, as nature flipped it’s woos thereupon, soon, their friendship grew evermore strong.

Through all the compasses life had so turned, they journeyed into a dark deep jungle all alone. Slowly and steadily they stepped together into the unknown. The path ahead was unpredictable but ,hand in hand, they moved along.

Night fell and they decided to rest up in the jungle. The cock slept on the branches above on a tree and the bull settled itself at the bottom, in the hollow of the tree. The surrounding bushes made a doorway into the hollow entrance and the bull was completely covered in an invisibility cloak.

Next morn the cock struck his usual chorded yell —“Cock-doodle-doo,” thro’ these nights ,sealed in, both evil and good, Who shall be risen to the ultimate truth?, He who labors in timely good, shall be risen to truth, and other than what, he might or would,be blessed with delights of nectareal fruits!”

Awakened by those crooning calls a wicked old fox, hiding in the bushes, ran up to feed on it. As a silent quell emerging from infernal hells, the fox sprang up to feast on the yelling spell. He thought to himself : “ How sweet shall be that lonely captive’s meat , when it’s feast in this wilderness shall be mine to keep.” Thinking so, the old fox ran out of his den making such boastful proclamations to himself.

Knowing the strong tendencies possessed by the foxy clan, the cock recalled the fierce nature and dark disposition of the fox’s ancestral order. Back in the past , the cock had witnessed the fox’s tyranny elsewhere. The cock knew that the fox was up to something vicious. He decided to knock a nail over fox’s plan.

Accordingly, the cock also forewarned the bull of the fox’s motives. In that stupefied moment, the cock whispered this into the bull ears :

“There’s no goodwill in the fox’s care,

For he comes in disguise ringing hell-bells

here,

Half hidden from eyes his motives can’t be spared,

He’s a devil set forth on a mission so reared

In so much so, he masquerades ,

jealous pangs from that very window there”

Beware ! Beware! Beware!

Seeing through the fox’s plan the cock invited the fox to open the door in the hollow and join him upstairs.

And, in the brief interim , the cock quickly told the bull to put an end to the fox’s cruelty.

So positioned from the recesses of the depths, the raging bull attacked the fox and defeated him in the conquest.

Thusly, the fox’s cunningness got exposed. Finally, the cock and bull continued on their journey ; regaling themselves for their time amidst the blooming coreopsis and daisies spread before them in the forest !

Moral of the Story :
