The Cage of Death pt. 1

Beginning on a cold February in 2008, follow the story of Alex Harper as he becomes Death Grip

By Dylan Published about a year ago 1 min read

Men fear death, however, I am no man. I will come for you. You will fear me. You will die by my hand. You cannot hide. Try to run and you'll slip. There's no way to escape from death's grip. - AH

...

Death is no stranger to Alex Harper, the embodiment of vengeance himself. For he is no ordinary man, inhabiting an immortal body and being able to put on the face of death. He never knew his father growing up, and he was separated from his brothers as a child when his mother died.

He was adopted by a wealthy scientist in West Virginia, a cruel man with a thirst for discovery. I could go into detail about the house of horror Alex Harper grew up in, but that's another story. To keep it simple, he was tortured for many years, both physically and psychologically.

Over the years, through his torture, his genes, and whatever awful concoction the mad scientist cooked up, Alex Harper became a fierce and powerful creature. Never seeing the sun, his skin turned to a pale grey, and through insidious torture, he acquired the gifts of necromancy, immortality, and fatal touch. Due to the potential catastrophe of his powers, the mad scientist kept him locked in a large cage instead of a bedroom.

Raised to be submissive to the mad scientist, Alex and his adopted siblings did his dirty deeds. Killing and robbing in the name of science, wreaking havoc on anyone who would choose the mad scientist as their enemy. They were known as The Death Squad, a group of super-abled teenagers committing atrocities for the power of an insane genius.

It doesn't sound heroic, does it? Then how did a man known as Death Grip become a superhero? I'm glad you asked.
