A boy was destined to live among the stars but never reach the sun, lassoed to the crescent moon. He’d throw heinous tantrums but stayed tied. He decided to pull the leash beyond taut. It bit into his skin and deprived his lungs. The moon tilted. He sank his heels into darkness, creating wrinkles that swallowed galaxies. The leash snapped. He trampled stars and planets. Warmth poured into his soul - a welcomed change from the cold rooted there. Maybe this is why he didn’t notice the temperature. The moon yelled as he ran into the ever-burning flames of the sun.
