The Artist's Secret Part 2
Psychological Microfiction Series
We have met Clara, an agoraphobic freelance sketch artist who comes across her neighbour, Mr. Bellamy, dragging a too-familiar-looking package out of his home.
Her journey started here.
Someone's always watching.- Michelle Liew.
**********************************************************************Clara couldn’t get the grisly scene outside her window out of her mind. The image of Mr Bellamy dragging whatever…or WHOEVER it was, was a haunting reel in a constant loop. Each time it played, the footage seemed to shift, an unwelcome memory warped by growing dread.
The whispers continued, merging with Clara’s thoughts until she couldn’t tell where one ended and the other began. Late one night, she thought she heard her name, whispered softly from within the Bellamy home.
"Clara..." Her voice was soft.
The only way to make sense of them was to find out what Mr. Bellamy’s package contained. But her agoraphobia trapped her, a cage keeping answers out of reach.
So she sketched the scene. Each time she did, she darkened the drawings, fear etching itself into each line. It was as if her pencil had a mind of its own, tracing lines she couldn’t explain.
Then a package for her arrived on her doorstep, along with a chilling note. She held it, her fingers trembling as she lifted it.
“You’re watching…but you’re not alone. “

Such an intriguing tale focusing on her disorder. Stories centered around psychological aspects with which we struggle are amongst my favorite ones.
Oo, ramping up the tension here. When you're an agoraphobic and menacing letters land on your doorstep, where can you go?
