It was a vibrant poker table, one with high stakes. Eugene "The Boss" Lone shot everyone a smug look. "You trust me, right?"
Don, his face filled with wrinkled furrows, pushed his chips forward. "I trust no one. Especially one with The Boss as his middle name."
They flipped their final cards and Eugene had the better hand. Applause erupted.
Don sighed, shrugged, and stood. "Guess that's it."
Eugene grinned, reached for the chips, and then froze. Don's fingers twitched.
It showed. Clearly.
Eugene groaned and pushed the chips back. "Take it Don. You're pretty awful at lying."
Don smirked. "And you, kid, are a terrible cheat."
He flipped over a card -one that Eugene thought that he had added to the pile, unnoticed.
Silence. Then Don chuckled. "Look, kid, you almost got away with it. But you...you chose integrity at the worst possible time."
The dealer sighed. "So what am I here, your dealer or your therapist?"

Agree with Komal and Mother Combs! Loved the read :)
lol, love the ending to this so much
This is a brilliant, slick piece of storytelling! And that last quip from the dealer? Perfect. This reads like a scene from a classic casino movie—tight, witty, and utterly entertaining! ✨
