Tavros’ Curse
One tale of Tavros

This is a story about a boy by day and a raging bull by night. This story takes place in a small village all the way out west called “Village of the Tauro’s.” The boy's name is Tavros. It was said that his ancestor Borem had fallen madly in love with a powerful sorceress by the name of Bevelin. They lived happily for many years until one particular year a new even more beautiful woman by the name of Auroma moved to town, Borem was struck by her flawless riveting beauty that he had forgotten all about Bevelin. This of course saddened Bevelin and broke her heart, so much that she placed a curse on him and all of his male kin who would all turn into raging bulls at night.
Once this was done both Borem and Auroma begged and pleaded to Bevelin but she would not falter for her heart was already broken. Borem had tried one last time because he was desperate he spoke to Bevelin privately and he got down on his knees, crying and apologizing to her telling her he doesn’t know what happened but he could not help his attraction to Auroma. Bevelin enraged by his apology she says “ I do not want to hear anymore of your betrayal. But since you said that you are desperate and you will do anything, I will grant you a way out of this curse for your kin.” He then asks,”Yes, Bevelin whatever it is name it?” She replies,”In the year 1925 your youngest great great great grandson must marry me. Borem accepts without hesitation. This is the year that Tavros was the youngest great grandchild at the time. All family members of Borem’s were well aware of the curse and that Tavros’ marriage sacrifice was set; they selfishly considered it for themselves no one took into account how Tavros felt.
During this year present day Tavros was only 17 still a boy not a man yet. Tavros knew of the family curse and that his ancestor Borem was responsible for it. But he had no idea that he was already promised to the sorceress. During the next week was the year of all his ancestors' celebration, his family honored them. This is a ritual every year. The family has never been regretful about the curse, that is not the same for Tavros it had always angered him, he had so much resentment for turning into a raging bull each night for as long as he can remember. When Tavros had gone to bed that night he had a very vivid dream that he would be the last kin of Borem’s to turn because he is the very key to kill Bevelin and he alone can put a stop to the curse.
Tavros recalled a folktale that his grandmother Rose would tell him at age 6, that there is a way to stop the curse and by doing so he would have to locate a gem which is the heart of Bevelin located far from their village so far that it would take about 4 days and 4 nights to get there. Grandma Rose always made sure he knew that it was just a myth, Tavros did not care he would do anything to lift this curse. You see his grandmother raised him because both of his parents died at a very young age shortly after he was born, Rose had passed away from sickness.
One week before Tavros was supposed to marry Bevelin his aunt and uncle who took him in after his grandmother passed, they sat him down and explained to him what was to come next. Tavros is a very nice humble respectable young man, but he can be very brutally honest. He listened to his aunt and uncle. When they were done speaking he let it loose. He started with “I understand the meaning of this curse, but I do not understand why I have to follow through with marrying this old woman because of Borem! Why should I give up on my own life for this old hag?” His uncle Jeb stopped him right there from disrespecting anyone else. His family was so naive that they believed the sorceress can hear him. Obviously she could not. Tavros was so upset and annoyed that he stormed off to his room, he didn’t want to hear another word it. His deep anger fueled his transformation faster than it ever did before the sun was not even close to setting yet, Tavros now as a huge dark black raging Bull with fire red eyes ran out of the house as if a matador had a red cloak in front of him. Tavros’ plan was to never return until he found Bevelin’s gem heart, he literally then ran away from home.
Tavros had journeyed far and wide for 4 days non stop but turned up with nothing. Until the 5th day he encountered something he never expected. Tavros came across a village that looked as though it were for little people the perfect lined up small cottage houses were miniature with bright fluorescent colors all lit up perfectly surrounded by plants and vines wrapped around them, he did not see any villagers, there were none in sight except for one small boy, Tavros approached him he said his name is Zuteous, he lived in the village without his family he never knew them he was left there as a baby. Tavros had asked where the villagers were. Zuteous explained that they had gone to the temple to pray. Tavros questioned Zuteous on why he was not with them. Zuteous said he was there to keep the village safe since he is the biggest. Tavros understood and asked Zuteous if he could point him in the direction of Bev Island? Zuteous asked why he wanted to go to such a horrible place? Tavros was unsure if he could trust anyone outside his own village. So he lied instead. Then Zuteous told him of the tales he heard from the villagers that there is a scary monster that lives there and would eat anybody that sets foot there, it was said that the monster is the sorceress’ pet his name is “Borevir '' a giant lion. “So please tell me again” said Zuteous,”why do you want to go there?” “Because I don’t think it is for a vacation right?” When Zuteous finished asking the question the sun began to set and at that very moment Tavros had transformed into a “raging bull” and with a surprised look on Zuteous face and a swallow of his saliva, he then answered “OH, well that explains a lot!”He then runs as far away as possible away from Tavros and jumps up a nearby tree and then transforms himself into a small monkey. Tavros the raging bull charges at Zuteous and then smashes his head into the stump of the tree hitting it so hard that he passes out. Zuteous is so relieved that he turned back into a boy and ran back to his home.
The next day Tavros had already transformed back into his normal self, he then wakes up at the same tree he slammed his against with a pounding headache he slowly gets up and is surrounded by all the villagers they were so small and miniature cute little people giggling to find him in their village, then their leader walks from behind the villagers and introduces himself, “Hi Friend my name is, Mycro I am the leader here. Who might you be?” Tavros then introduces himself, says his name and tells them where he comes from. Mycro is so amazed and welcomes Tavros to their village it is called “Pequeno,”he tells Tavros to make himself at home. Mycro shows Tavros around the village, while Zuteous hides away in the distance peeking his head to watch Tavros, because he is afraid that Tavros will charge at him again. Towards the end of the tour Tavros shows his gratitude and then asks Mycro about the direction of where Bev Island is, because he would like to continue on his mission as soon as possible without delay. To Mycro’s surprise he asks Tavros, “With all do respect I understand, you have to be on your way but may I know the reason why you want to go there?” Tavros feels as though deep down he can trust Mycro because of his demeanor, so he takes in a small deep breath and answers.” I must find a special gem there” Mycro understands and simply tells Tavros about a story of the special gem and Bev Island.
“Once upon a time a young girl and her family and pet lived there before it was even an island in fact it was not an island at all. Anyway this family was labeled as gypsies; they wandered from place to place and wound up keeping this place as their home. They lived a peaceful happy life until one very sad and unlikely day. The young girl once nicknamed Bevy and her pet lion cub Borevir were running for their lives from a couple of assassins that Bevy had not ever seen before they were after her and her family, she had no idea why. At this time Bevy had just started learning how to become a powerful sorceress who she was destined to be, she was too late to save her parents but she managed to save herself and her pet instead by separating the land she was on turning it into an island. But the assassins were able to get onto the island to attack her and Borevir so she then turned Borevire into the fiercest strong lion he is today, then upon Bevy’s command Borevir attacked both assassins and ate them both up. She had vowed to keep Borevir on the island to protect it and to eat any man that were to ever set foot on it for this would never happen again. She remained on the island and lived as an orphan and remained training as a sorceress; she grew to be a beautiful woman. She never left the island until she saw a young handsome man on his boat fishing, when he looked up he noticed a mysterious island, Bevelin ran out so she could be visible and the 2 of them locked eyes falling in love at first sight. This young man's name was Borem. As soon as Tavros learned that his ancestor was the young man his eyes rolled into the back of his head and he then sighs. Mycro then asks Tavros what is wrong because he notices Tavros' whole mood had changed, Tavros answers yes I am aware of the story. Mycro’s jaw drops,” OH WOW!” So then you do know about the story of the gem. Tavros admits he did not. Mycro explains, when Borem broke Bevelin’s heart she returned to the island, cut out her heart then turned it into a gem she then vanished after that.
Tavros reveals what his ancestors Borem and Auroma have promised Bevelin in this current year. Mycro completely understands like he knew already and offers anything to Tavros for his journey including a guide. Moments later Mycro then meets with Zuteous privately telling him of his new job, Zuteous is quiet and has a sad worried look on his face. So then Mycro asks him what’s wrong. Zuteous was thinking of Tavros' secret that he did not want to disclose because he had a secret of his own that he is a shapeshifter that no one in the village is aware of. He then answers Mycro by making something up, by saying I was just thinking of the stories I have been hearing and I find it sad for Tavros. Mycrobshares wise words by simply saying we all have our own obstacles that we go through. It is up to us if we rise above them and Tavros is doing by going on his quest.
