Natural Magic Chapter 18
Read Chapter 17 Here The next morning, Matsias went with the girls into Shakif. They left early in the morning to take the train, which was about a thirty minute trip, and at a reduced fare for students. Though he and Key were the only members of the group who hadn't already been, Ayan and Miriam had only stayed overnight before taking the train to Faraday, so Tilli, who had been there often with her parents, served as tour guide.

Souls
All souls are beautiful. Each is a bright flame, that only a demon can see. They all have a base colour of red, yellow, or blue. But the most vibrant, are tinged with different colours: pinks and oranges, purples, and greens. Some souls burned dimly, barely there, beaten, and battered; diminished by the cruel actions of their owners. Others burned with a fury that was almost painful to behold, casting light on all around them.

Firebolt
In the pit of my soul where I knew honesty was never shy, I felt a swarm of butterflies invade my system as I left my job downtown in the boisterous city of Citadel. Lex and I had gotten into another argument regarding our future together and I was trying my best to remain level-headed, but with every passing mile, I found my anger spiking. We’d been texting since mid-afternoon after my lunch break and when the topic rolled in I tried to be clear and concise without the bitchy attitude I’m known to have. Yet, his message said: I’m still not sure if I’m ready for that. Then, it was like something in me snapped.

The Sweet Exchange
The hustle and bustle of the city pushed against her face in a forceful, inescapable hug. Maxine Devereux shoved her hands into her pockets, grumbling as she walked to her apartment building. Her curly black hair was styled in a neat bun, tendrils of hair framing her brown face and swaying in the wind as she moved. She turned her body just in enough time to avoid running into a food cart that was rushing to its next destination to catch its late afternoon customers.

Glitch Wipe
Mum couldn’t afford martial arts, so I got a language chip for my birthday instead. Sure, that’s cool and everything, but French doesn’t exactly save you from getting beaten on at school. “Stop hitting me,” isn’t a particularly effective method of getting someone to back off, no matter what language. And it most certainly didn’t work against Eric Jay Benson. He was a rich asshole. Which also made him a black belt rich asshole. His parents had gotten him so many fighting chips he was practically a ninja. The other day at school, he’d even done a triple backflip off the roof when the teachers weren’t watching. Bloody show-offing dick.

Wandering Dark
I cannot believe I'm back here. I can’t do it; I won’t do it. I should leave, turn right around, and walk out the gates. Half turning, Iana looked to see if Mrs Poole was still watching her, she gave a small salute as if to say running hadn’t occurred to her. Not that Mrs Poole was fooled. She’d known Iana for too long. Looking up at the imposing fortress in front of her, Iana wondered if anything had changed. Would Vi still be here? Would they let her back into the same class as her friends? Looking at the military grey roof and the off-white walls she laughed grimly to herself. The cops were right of course. She was running from an institution, just not the one they expected.

The Death and Soul of the Party
A long time ago, before the world gained light and darkness ruled, humanity was created. A sentient being created as an experiment on life itself. Our creators became known as Angels. They were benevolent beings who wanted to see if they could. Then a divide between the angels occurred. There was those who wanted to leave humanity alone, seeing that as a species, we could grow and that their experiment was a success. Then there was those who wanted to use humanity as play things, as further specimens and some wished to wipe them out and start again. This began a great war.
