The Owl at Night
Read these stories first; this is the third in the series. Green for Go: Jery'la Cold as Ice: Kura'hy ~~~~~~~ Even as Kura'hy was in the Depths, and Jery'la was on the land, so there was a third Traveler of the Home Realms now on the small planet out at the Edge. After Jery'la's mishap with the wheeled transports of the species who called themselves human, it was decided that there should not only be teams of two as had previously been discussed in the Travelers' Conclave, but in fact teams of three. Even four, if the planet being explored had sentient beings in any other medium than land, water, or air.

ACTA NON VERBA
Tired of rain! THREE. As the first drops of rain hit her windshield, she thought to herself. Beth, you should have listened, he was right again. Here comes the rain first fairly light but then increasing to a downpour. Beth moved from one lane to the other as she exited the interstate at her exit. Just as she turned on to a side street boom, kathump, kathump, kathump. The unmistakable sounds of a blowout. This could only happen to me on a day like this she bemoaned to herself as she pulled over. Why me? Why Now? She thought as the rain continued to pour down on her car. A slow drip seeped through the crack she had put in the window to let air in and the rain slowly flooded the side street she had exited on. Maybe only ankle deep but deep enough that she wasn’t getting out to fix it now. At that very moment she was dressed to the hilt for a job interview that she obviously now was going to be late for if she even got there at all.

Diary of a Single Woman
January 1 Happy New Year, Diary! The holiday season is here. Admittedly, prepping for the end of the year seems like a sprinted marathon than anything else, even when you’re single. I know most people think single people are lucky because there is not much that goes into preparing for the end of the year. True, I don’t have a family to care for, I don’t have to worry about end of the year traditions to follow, preparing gifts, or a dinner, for a large group of people. However, I am not immune to the crazy holiday shuffle that people in a relationship have to deal with.

I went to the countryside to stay with my grandma, Nora. she lived alone after my grandpa passed, in an accident. She refused to leave the home they made together but some say there was a different reason. some say it was murder, and she didn’t want anyone to find out. I thought they were just crazy rumors until that summer.

JACK OF DIAMONDS
ii Artie woke up in a sweat. He was quick to tell himself he wasn’t frightened, but the dream had been a little more realistic this time, a little more intense. Disconcerting if you wanted to be honest. Certainly not what he would’ve considered in the way of a childhood reckoning. Not that anyone would ever confuse such a dream with childhood reckonings. The dream had been about the War. A lot of people have vivid memories about the war, he told himself, it’s all a matter of adjusting yourself to those memories. You have to understand that once you’ve gone though it—you lived it, you lived through it, you fought it and ultimately survived…then it can’t hurt you anymore, can it? It was after all, when it came right down to it, just a dream. He’d had them before. Once you get your head around that idea—that, and the fact that you can never die in a dream, he reminded himself—it makes it easier to accept that dreams are not real.

SWORDS v. MAGIC
SORCERESS: "In our previous adventure tale..." Galtar and his allies had last been traversing the realm of Bandisar in one final push to confront and ultimately stop the evil Tormack. Then, there came the cataclysm worse than any Gumata Storm. Galtar found himself without the aid of Princess Goleeta, her brother, Zorn, or his noble steed, Thork, and abandoned in a new world. He suspected the black magic of Tormack's sniveling sorcerer, Krym, except that he found himself face to face with a savage swordsman with a glowing energy blade. No; Tormack would never abandon Galtar to the premise of someone else ending him. Something deeper was going on here for Galtar to investigate before he should return home. In the meantime, he sensed a fight on his hands and he still thankfully had his Golden Lance... Thundarr's allies were gone; taken by the sorcerer, Gemini. He had pursued the captor across Earth 3094 for a time and had been in heated conflict with the cruel wizard's expendable robot knights. Then, just as suddenly, Thundarr was...elsewhere; no robot knights to stand in his way; no gloating Gemini; and no allies in the forms of Ariel or Ookla either. Before the barbarian could get the bearings of his new place, however, he did spy a wisp of a swordsman across from him. The lad was alien to him; but so was THIS world, and evil certainly wasn't restrained to the wizards. As far as Thundarr knew, THIS whelp could be HOLDING his friends. The barbarian drew his fabulous Sun Sword and prepared to meet the man-child with the dual weapons...

The Guardian
CHAPTER ONE I wasn't sure what woke me up. It was the middle of the night, and everything was quiet. Looking at the clock I saw it was 3am. Another three hours and I would have to get up and get ready for my first day of school. I was not looking forward to it. Up until summer break I had been living with my dad in New Jersey. It was just him and I since my mum passed away when I was seven. But he had just been asked to go to a work thing in Hong Kong. I wasn't sure exactly what he did, but I knew it was important enough so that he was the only person able to do the Hong Kong trip. It was going to take him up to a year to complete, so, rather than me tag along, he sent me to stay with my Aunt and Uncle in a tiny Colorado town called Lakes Valley.

Unexpected Surprise in the Grass
Serena gently clasped the small hand intertwined with hers. Birds cheerfully chirped their songs as a gentle breeze caressed their faces. Warm sunshine blanketed the landscape of vibrant reds, stunning oranges, and vivid yellows. Fall was in the air, and it was a gorgeous afternoon.

The Monkey's Uncle
Author's Note: This story is a continuation from The Lion's Mane. Although our flight was headed for Southern Spain, the airplane touched down in Gibraltar international airport, which is properly British territory. We walked across the tarmac and checked in at customs, then headed straight to the Mediterranean steps, where Zoraya and I were met by Captain Falco and a dozen more Knights of Verona. They all wore stylish suits that gleamed like steeled armor in the August sunlight. Their sidearms were subtly concealed, yet visible to a discerning eye. I myself had managed to get my trusty Estoc through the aforementioned checkpoint, on account of it being considered an antique. Zoraya's vintage pistolet also fell into that category; she now removed it from its wooden box and holstered it. We would appear to be mere LARPers to any casual onlooker.
