The Blessed City
As the sun sank behind the curtain of the mountains, fire-lit torches lit lined the city from all sides. Slowly, everyone gathered outside and made for the gathering hall. Strapping their bags to their backs, the three of them melted into the crowd.

MDMA
2 The next few days were spent in a haze. Almost as if I was living in the static screen of an antenna television. Things happened so fast around me, and I couldn’t keep up. Being physically present in the world, but absent minded to what’s happening. I craved connection, but getting a reply out of me was next to impossible. The television would be on just as a form of background noise to my empty yet racing thoughts. It all may seem very confusing, unless you’ve lived through it yourself. If you have, then you know that this feeling doesn’t last forever. Eventually you numb everything, and it is safe to engage in the world again.

Xavier's Eyes
It was a busy Saturday night at the Darkwood club. I was sitting at the bar with my long-time friend, Joseph, serving drinks tonight. I was supposed to be meeting a supplier for insulin medication here but it looks like he would not be able to make it. He hasn't been answering my text messages or phone calls since the morning before the meeting. Either the cops found out and threw him in the slammer, chickened out, or an Assassin took him out. This supplier had friends who worked at pharmacies and would be willing to hand us a few boxes of the stuff.

Witchy Woman. Top Story - March 2022.
“You’re going to have to adjust your requirements if we’re ever going to find someone,” Carmichael said. He and Tanya had gone through almost 5 candidates this week alone, and frankly, he was about at his wits end. It seemed like no one was going to meet her impossible standards, and the end of the month was coming too soon.

Lessons in Love
Jenny hadn’t spoken to me since I stood her up. I had bigger problems than that though, because I knew if I didn’t get at least as good as that girl and her age-group at gym I’d be bumped down a grade further, and I suspected I’d die of embarrassment if I had to go back to Beginners! Next day was Saturday so I decided to go round to see my friend and get some practice in.

The Flashback Starts
When I first met Jenny she was shorter than she was now, and her legs more milk-bottly. She still had the same straight fair hair though, and glasses, and a younger version of the same pensive little face I knew. And oh, she smelled sweet! She used to go a bit overboard on the perfume, so that walking home from school I could smell her even when she was quite a distance ahead of me. The whole road would be sweet with Jenny, in more ways that one.
