Gorroson
Sorriere's black sands drifted into the crystal blue waters of the Khymian Sea. The contrast between land and water was breathtaking, making it a distraction to the continent's barren land. No plant-life grew here, except for a few sparse oasis' that attracted the few animals that could survive the heat and the fury of the dragons who nested here. While the soil was highly enriched by the dragons' fire, it also grew to a deathly level of heat which is why the dragons bred and laid their eggs here.

The first sleepless night I spent at the Public Security Bureau. I asked to call my fiancée, but was not allowed to do so. Officer Huang Hai promised I would inform her, and he knew who Gu Qiusha's father was. However, until dawn, there was no news at all. There was no mirror in the detention room, so I couldn't see my face, and I was afraid that I had boiled up dark circles under my eyes. I couldn't eat anything, my stomach was killing me, and my breakfast box was still on the floor.

The Black Ibis Case - Chapter 4
The drive to Reservoir road was quiet and soothing. The air had a stillness to it that almost made me forget about the growing pains in my face and torso from the fight a half hour ago. I could see in the rear-view mirror that I had a busted lip and a cut on my cheekbone, and my side felt like it was going to have bruises for a few days. Luckily though, nothing was broken. I was just going to tough it out and tell anyone that gave me a side eye that it was a failed mugging.
