Best Laid Plans
OBSELETE! BEING REWRITTEN! Marcus strode quickly through the Castra Custodia, quickly turning from the Via Sagularis that ran down the left side of the military camp down the Via Principalis towards the entrance of the Praetorium that sat in the center and acting as headquarters and residence for the senior staff of the Legion stationed there. He travelled without his usual tribune armour even though it was almost time for his rounds to check on the guards. The messenger summoning him to the Praetorium to meet with the Imperator Sertorius had caught him while on his way to pick up his armour from the Fabricae where it was being repaired after a recent skirmish and near miss involving one of the many Dryad cavalry patrols that often attempted to cross into the Atlani side of the Furca river, the boundary between the Atlani Republic and the Dryadalis Imperium on the North Eastern border of the Republic's territory.

Bending Without Breaking --The Tale of the Reeds and the Oak Tree
Once upon a time, there stood an oak tree by the riverbank, who, in a mocking tone, said to the reeds, "Look at you, unable to withstand even a sparrow. A gentle breeze and you sway in every direction, so weak and fragile. But look at me, not only can I block the sun's rays, but I also laugh in the face of whirlwinds and thunderstorms. What you consider a raging tempest is merely a gentle breeze and drizzle to me."

A Tragic Tale Part 3
A subtle howling escaped the underside of the door. The noise startled me and I threw myself onto the bed trying my best not to look like a coward. It’s fine. It was just the wind, outside, from the direction of the door. No big deal! The sound came again and this time the light from under the door became so unbearable that I had to cover my face, so I didn’t go blind. I reached for the comforter on the bed and shoved it over my head. After a few minutes, I popped back out to see if anything had changed. Nothing about the door itself had changed, but it had begun to grow dimmer. My peace of mind started to return, and then a really spooky thing happened. The door creaked open all on its own. Well, I’ve lost it. If I go home now and tell everyone this house is seriously haunted then I’m going to get sent to a looney bin. The door stood all the way open and the light had almost completely disappeared. I didn’t want to go near the closet, but I did anyway. Something or someone wanted to look inside to see what there was. I left my bag by the bed because I thought I would be back for it. I was wrong. I walked closer to the closet until I was close enough to smell the rotting wood. Before I knew what was happening, I was pulled inside; out of my own existence.
