Humanity's Last Custodian
Today was different for the custodian, after decades of the same routine everyday. Something had told him it would be, even while looking in the mirror this morning at the his aged face, grey flecked dark hair and blue eyes. Following his routine morning checks, a probe had entered Earth orbit, surprising him. After waiting for so long in isolation, down in the bowels of the facility that was his home for all of his life, he wept tears as he allowed for the computer to start downloading whatever information the probe brought. Information that the custodian was both eager and fearful for.

The Oracle of Orbville
Lazer Rayz paints away his pain. Intensely and athletically attacking the wall in a meditative dance, the light-ray painter of Orbville, known well as Rayz, renders a scene of manicured rose gardens framing a cemetery. Always meticulous in detail, he usually busts out layered aerosol art as a daily duty; depicting family scenes of comfort, of rewards for obedience and adherence to rules. This day is a deviation from his employment by the Orbville village authorities - of serving to remind the community of their humble obligations to logical order. As a special dedication to his mother to mark the beginning of his journey as an orphan, Rayz is spraying a memorial mural of her grave site, which lays in another village that she was herself raised in, worlds away from Orbville.

Orgonized
The End About three feet away stood the only obstacle between my freedom and me, a singular windowpane. Seemingly an easy feat. However, once I pried myself off the ground I would make myself visible to my pursuers. I took a few shuddering breaths, and stabled myself. I had just enough power left to create one last diversion (and still retain energy for my departure). I cleared my mind, and then slowly started to conjure an image of a robin. Crystal clear in my mind, I felt a tug at the edge of my consciousness and then a light pop. Trilling filled my ears and I knew I had been successful. My eyes snapped open and before me was a robin; perched on the edge of the bed I was crouching behind. Tilting its head, peering at me. It puffed out its chest, and then with a slight nod, it opened its wings and floated over to the door and began to sing.

The Lucky Leprechaun
Prologue The Lucky Leprechaun was an asteroid miner that worked the Kuiper Asteroid Belt. Seamus O'Shaughnessy, the Captain, was also the only crewman aboard, part-owner with his parents, who had retired to Mars. It wasn't always this way; legend had it that Seamus' great grandfather had won the Lep in a decidedly dodgy poker game over 100 years ago. Back then, she needed a crew of 12 to keep everything going. Not anymore, now it was all computers and robots. Seamus spent most of his time checking up on processes that ran perfectly fine without him.

Black Obsidian
Don’t add me to your group text because I will leave the group. Group texts are like the new age chain letters luring you into a never-ending loop of obligation and regret. Ugh! Now, there is only one group text I am willingly apart of and it is worth it because my best friends Nikki and Maya are like my sisters from another mister; there aren’t many moments that go by without them. Seriously, my childhood would have been a total bust without Nikki’s over-the-top personality and Maya’s no-nonsense attitude. Baby, I just let them have the floor most days. Talk about entertaining!
