Just a Minute, Piggy!
1:30pm: Mina sat still, eyes glued to the courtroom clock’s Roman numerals, ready for whatever judgement a group of strangers felt compelled to throw. She licked her lips, feeling the lipstick dry out, wishing she had put on a more moisturizing lip-balm instead. As one jury member stood to announce the verdict, Mina flashed back to the unfortunate morning she found herself in the wrong place, at the wrong time.

No Seconds to Spare
She turned. Her eyes attempted to adjust to the change in light, while her lids widened from the sudden fear. Almost forgetting to keep her mouth shut as her screams were muted by her own closed lips, air bubbles rapidly escaped from her nose. A dark, very long shadow was passing by mere feet from her head, and it suddenly felt colder where she idled. She didn’t dare let her imagination wander with the possibilities of what it was that lurked above her. She tried settling her nerves as she clenched her jaw tight.

Contest
''60 seconds on the clock... Good luck.'' Well, he had to say it, didn't he? ''Good luck...'' If there was one thing that Gordon Roach did not want to hear with all the lights on him and that sing-song music playing all around them, it was that phrase. Why couldn't there be something else you said to someone in a moment like this; maybe ''Break a leg'' was a little too old?
