Mystery
Thicker Than Water. Top Story - August 2022.
The fluorescent light in the kitchen flickered to life and I got my first look at my attacker, my older brother Donny, leaning hard against the Formica countertop. He was heavier than I remembered. His face looked swollen, weathered by life, like a man who had aged double in the years I’d been gone, but it was him for sure.

The Yellow Hibiscus Chapter 18
I sighed, thinking I must find out if the diamond in my possession was natural and, if so, how many carats. Of course, the problem was that I had a weapon, and I couldn't really let anyone touch it until I knew exactly what it was. I sat there, afraid to move, wondering what the gypsy had seen while she was reading my palm.

One Way Railway Ch. 3
This place sure isn't like any I'd seen before. Everything looks all shiny and clean, from the floors to the ceiling. It makes my eyes hurt a little from the light sparkling off the gleaming red, white and polished silver. The people who ran it must really like working here to keep it so pretty looking. It strikes me as odd that they're aren't more customers in here. This seems to be the only spot in Purgatory that serves food, although just by looking at the sign behind the counter I don't think I've ever had food like this before. Some of those things I ain't too sure are even food at all.

The Samhain Chronicles Ch. 11
After Dr. Horace left to fix a cup of tea for his ward, Danny headed downstairs to the guest room to check up on Penelope. He thought about just letting himself in, but paused with his hand on the knob. On the off chance that she had awakened, he didn't wish to barge in unannounced. Very timidly, he tapped on the door, "Penelope? Are ye awake?" He put his ear to the heavy walnut panel, listening carefully for any sign of movement on the other side. When he heard nothing, he swallowed nervously and pushed the door open.

Pilot: "There are a lot of stories and a lot of rumors about strange things that happen on planes, but it's all word of mouth and it's not written down. You know, we hear some pretty funny things sometimes. When we think back on these experiences, a lot of them are about when you fly over different areas and the seat belt comes loose or the hatch opens and closes by itself."

Alanus
Unfortunately, finding Agron was much easier said than done. Haganto sighed as he poured some rabbit stew into his bowl, causing Animo to climb out of his pocket and sniff after he jumped onto his arm. Even though they had only met each other a few days ago, the baby weasel’s ribcage was no longer visible and he had enough energy to not constantly need to nap throughout the day. Haganto had even managed to comb out his matted fur, though there were times he had accidentally been too rough, causing Animo to squeal and struggle till Haganto calmed him again. Animo didn’t make any moves to escape though, and he was pretty happy to play with Haganto later so the half-ogre figured he had been forgiven.

The Yellow Hibiscus Chapter 17
I looked around to get my bearings since I'd jumped off the train randomly for fear of being watched. I was at Grand Central Station. The closest was at 5th Avenue and 40th Street East. Though I'd lost track of time, I knew the library would still be open. I set my course and began a brisk walk of a couple of blocks. Walking was therapeutic and much needed in my hyper-harrassed state.
