Love
Dysphoria
Another grueling day working at the never-ending grindstone, and I accomplished absolutely nothing. I didn’t teach that group of friends… or were they a family?….anything about how to treat one another better. They ended up just talking trash about how I looked and making me feel awful. Of course, I tried my damnedest to not let them know this, but they were very good at insulting me, down to my “rat eyes,” and their “hard to pin down” dislike of me in general. I go home to an empty house and an empty bed and an empty heart.

Winter's Wonder
We drove up the snowy, winding road towards the cozy A-frame cabin. We made sure to leave early so we would have time to get settled in and then relax as we watched the sunset while drinking steamy cups of cocoa. There's nothing more peaceful or comforting than the sounds of this winter paradise, the stillness in the crisp, cool air, and the solitude, or rather the feeling of one-ness with nature. Leaving the chaos behind for the beautiful, natural, simplicity of this rural haven. Even if only for a few days, heaven could be ours.

Atop Kolob
We drove up the snowy, winding road towards the cozy A-frame cabin. Tonight we neglected to invite those who always come and only invited those who are always otherwise occupied. We had a scare with Nick, as it seemed his girlfriend was working late and he might “stop by,” but in the end the long drive turned him away. Now, it was only the two of us first passing arid plains of rust colored dirt then turning north in LaVerkin and winding up past sandstone bluffs until we were high on Kolob Terrace Road surrounded by twisted Junipers and black basalt cliffs.

Lovers Mountain
We drove up the snowy, winding road towards the cozy A-frame cabin. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking. Everything was covered in white, as far as the eye could see-the trees, the rocks, the road. It felt like being inside a Dr. Seuss book. I had always thought of myself as a city girl who loved the beach. Boy, was I wrong. Because here I was, at the top of a mountain covered in layers and layers of soft, fresh powder and I had never been happier. My heart swelled with every turn we took, the road wrapping its arms around us, each curve revealing a more beautiful sight than the last. There was nowhere else I’d rather be.

The Love Bite
We drove up the snowy, winding road towards the cozy A-frame cabin. Tom whistled at the first sight of it, still far away, but slowly coming into view as we closed the distance. In the van with us, were Crystal and Sam - a couple, and Tom’s girlfriend, Wanda.

"To the woman who could not get away...."
We drove up the snowy, winding road towards the cozy A-frame cabin. I was behind the wheel. You were staring out the passenger window as the snow swirled down from above. It looked soft, like eiderdown fluttering to the Earth. Or like feathers from the beating wings of some distant, smiling Angel.
