Gash
I woke to the lights of the city peering through the nearly useless blinds in my apartment. After being here for better than a year at this point – one would think I would have adapted. The lights felt too bright for the late hour of the day, as the light still managed to pour its way in.

Barbara's Jog
Barbara was running down the street. She was actually jogging for fun. When she was about to be at her street she stopped to change the song on her phone. By the time Barbara found a song she wanted to listen to, the view in front of her finally caught her attention. A man was busy moving his arm from side to side inside a car window. The man turned around at the same time as picking up what turned out to be a large kitchen knife, covered in blood. The blade reflected some light at Barbara and she looked up. Her eyes connected with the murderers eyes.

The Donkey Tree
The crack of the M-80 rang out and echoed off the damp walls before drowning in the murky creek below. Minnows darted about frantically, from both the explosions and also to avoid the claws of the backward-swimming crawdads looking for a meal. To James and Peter, this damp, hidden world under the bridge was the best place to light off firecrackers in town.

Blood and Bond
“DRIVE CADE DRIVE '' Donte screamed at me as he looked through the rearview mirror and noticed two black SUV’s fastly approaching us. I pressed, no stomped on the gas pedal and floored it down the street. I thought we had more time but of course they are always two steps ahead and always know where we are no matter how hard we try to escape them. I looked for the nearest exit out of the neighborhood and finally found one. As I was approaching quickly another SUV came out of nowhere and blocked what seemed to be our only escape. I had to think quickly and get us out of the situation that I put us in. “Oh shit” Donte muttered as the headlights from the SUV’s from before came into view even faster than when we first saw them. Like I said before I had to think quickly so I made the split decision to just ram the car ahead of us. Yes I know that sounds stupid but when your being chased by people who want to kill your mind isnt thinking clealry. Surprisingly it worked and with a loud “bang” the car in front of us moved just enough for us to squeeze by and exit the neighborhood. This was also just enough for one of our two chasees to leave too. Luckily we had an advantage and we were able to get some good distance on them before they escaped. “Is she gonna make it Cade? '' Donte said to me as he looked back looking at Tre. She was bleeding out fast and I had to get her out of here and into a hospital as fast as I humanly could. I mean she is the love of my life and I really care about her. She's made me so happy and there's nobody I would rather be on this planet than her. But all because of some stupid feud between bloodlines I’m gonna lose her and its all my fault. I should've been there for her when she needed me the most but my pride, my ego, my lost priorities got the best of me and now well just look at her. As I was approaching a stretch of road where the woods were on the left hand side I saw that damn SUV again. “SHIT” I thought to myself because I finally thought we had lost them but here they come again. Tre moaned and groaned as I could tell she was fading fast, all I could think about was getting her to the hospital and getting her there quickly. I hate to admit it but I didn’t even care about me or Dontes' well-being at the time as I just wanted my love to be safe. Tears came to my eyes as I thought about a life where she would be gone, and her blood would be on my hands. They were still hot on our tails and we were getting closer to the hospital. As I looked ahead in the road I saw a figure standing right in the middle of it. When we got closer I could tell who exactly it was. Khaleesi of course who else would it be, who else would chase us for this long and never get sick of it. She raised her arrow with a flaming purple dagger and launched it at our car. I felt the impact as we abruptly stopped, psssh she cut all of the power out. She smugly grinned and began to slowly approach our car. Our Chassis also caught up to us along with two extra cars this time.”FUCK” Donte yelled as a panicked look began to come across his face. Eight men in all black came out of the cars and just like Khaleesi approached our car but with guns in their hands. When I looked at my best friend and the love of my love I began to think to myself. “This summer was supposed to be fun. When my mom dropped me off in New Orleans for the summer I was expecting exciting parties, making new friends, and maybe meeting a girl or two. I didn’t expect all this pain, this tragedy, secrets, lies, and for me to fall in love. Donte looked at me with wide eyes and said “ Cade we have to turn now, there's no more time”. I was horrified as he said this because I knew the repercussions of turning into the beast but he was right. I had to save Tre and I would do whatever it takes to do it even though her bloodline hates ours. I don't care though I love her and will always protect her no matter what. I nodded my head in agreement as Donte and I locked eyes one last time before we exited the car.“Well well well look who decided to give up and turn themselves in'' Khaleesi said as she approached us.”Fuck you” I said to her angrily as she had cause us so much pain and trouble. She liked that of course and began to smirk again.

A story told by one woman: the apartment of the damned ghosts
First, I want to say that the story I want to tell you is quite difficult to believe from the point of view of the generally accepted way of life. Some of its moments do not lend themselves to logical comprehension and can lead to a lot of speculation and disputes. I leave it up to the reader, and I think you will have something to think about after reading.

Hunter
As her shirt came over her head, she felt eyes on her. She stopped in mid-movement, arms crossed protectively over her chest. She faced the wall, her back to the wide picture window in her bedroom, and that’s where the feeling of being watched came from. Goosebumps ran down her arms and across her shoulders and the hair on the back of her neck raised in alarm.
