Talons on our Tail
Watching Steve get turned into an 80 foot chicken, or at least 80 foot chicken legs supporting a barn, was about as weird as it gets. I only saw it from the rear view mirror. I couldn’t get away fast enough. The dad guy said he thought the barn would be moving north, so I wanted to put as much distance between us as possible. We sped down 169 in a direction that said south.

So It Came To Be
Pardat sighed as he leaned over the body laying in the growing field of white around them. This had been his wife, Fadwa, who stood beside him since the first light of time. She had been an Archangel, a being of radiance and power, as Pardat himself was a Titan, an archetype of Reality through whom the principles of creation flowed. Together they had walked side by side, footfalls leaving imprints in the fabric of Reality to make realms which would become as dreams, and dreams which would birth stories for those who had created them.

Mayday Country
They had two kids, two dogs, two cats, and had outgrown the city. Home was now Granite, about an hour and a half from proper downtown. In the early summer, they fell in love with a house older than their parents with a dozen acres of land that ran into an old pine tree farm. The house itself had a gray-blue brick exterior that reminded Sasha of the ocean waves before a storm, while it reminded Rupert of the color of his first car's faux-leather interior.

Hollow's Eve
Constant darkness, terror at every corner. Some of the most frightening creatures known to man. Believed to be so traumatizing for mankind that they opted to dismiss their presence altogether. Yet, their very existence proves that the top of the food chain extends far beyond what is taught in Academics. Fortunately for the feeble minds of humans, this world can’t be seen by the naked eye. It exists in a parallel layer on Earth that mimics our ecosystem in various ways, but is vastly different in others. Those who have had the misfortune to peak into this layer even for a glimpse had their minds forever trapped in insanity, incapable of comprehending what they witnessed. This is a world of horror… the realm of Hallows’ Eve.

Siege
Jistan held the sword in a two-handed grip, arms extended to keep the sharp parts as far away from himself as possible. “It’s very…large,” he said lamely. He probably should have said ‘impressive’ or ‘amazing’. But it was just a long piece of sharpened steel.

The Telltale Bull
Leaves crunch and twigs snap violently, as a frightened girl sprints from horror. It is long behind her, giving no chase, yet she cannot shake that which resides in her mind. Her brother, gone. Her parents, as well. All taken from her by a monstrous witch in the woods. What started out as a family camping trip, turned into a terror, unimaginable. She runs and runs. Into bushes. Into branches. She does not care. She is scratched and dirtied. She pays that no mind. How would she explain what had happened to others? How would she ask for help? She knows not these answers. Run, run, run. Live, live, live. She had that mantra focus her to do just that, for she did not know how to do anything else but that at the moment.

The "Divine" Bovine In Line
"Coalsprit... Coalsprit..." Coalsprit stirred at the sound of his name being whispered on the wind. He opened his eyes. It was not yet dawn. He closed them again. Whatever spirit or beast wanted his attention'd have to try harder than that at this hour.

Charging Bull and Fearless Girl
It was only at night that the Charging Bull could get some rest from the crowds. He didn’t mind people, as they were coming from all over the world to see him, and he liked listening to them chatter in different languages. But he did get tired of them rubbing his private parts for luck. And lining up to do so, on his both ends: To take a picture with his face and to rub his balls. The night brought some relief, even though there were still some late-night wanderers approaching him, at least it was not a constant stream of people.
