The Deer Centaur: Mythological Oddity
Centaurs. Half man, half horse yes, but the extent of the centaur doesn't just stop at horses. There are many recorded and still more recordable instances of deer, donkey, Pegasus, and many other breeds of animals that generally have four legs, but have been born into the "centaur" sub class of beasts. Just like in the standard array of deer, deer centaurs can be of various colors and have a variety of coloring on the tail. Some deer centaurs have antlers, though their facial features remain mostly humanoid in their makeup and appearance.

A new age
There wasn't always dragons in the valley. Once the dragon hunters had died out or left, the mighty creatures slowly came back to seek revenge. At least some did anyway, others sought to live in peace beside us. Rumour has it that there could also be some living among us but not in a dragon form, in a human skin. The rumour started a few months ago when a local claimed they were gathering supplies in the mountain and spotted a human transform. No one really believed a word of it at first but that person did mysteriously disappear a few weeks after the sighting. Now a few months on its nothing more than whispered gossip in the corners of the camp. My father had noted in his journals over his career of being a dragon hunter that there was some magical abilities dragons possessed. But the human transformation thing was not specifically mentioned but I wish I knew for sure. If I made that discovery at least I could restore honour and respect back to the family name, and I wouldn't be looked down on for my mothers choices. You see my father was a well loved man and he put his life on the line on many occasions to protect the camp from dragons destruction and slavery. But after his death my mother started to act strangely and it was found that she choose to help dragons and rumours say she offered to be a breeder vessel for them.

Glorious Purpose
There weren't always dragons in the Valley. At least according to the old stories. But Vashti Unmael could not recall a time when dragons didn’t inhabit the deep, sprawling terrain nestled within the mountain known as the Sacred Gleaming of Glorious Purpose.

Densmark, The Chosen
Chapter 1 Tongues of red and orange licked the night sky. The clanging of harsh steel rang through the air in stark contrast to the screams of dying men. Both sounds battled to see which would rule the darkness. Armored men helped each other as well as killed each other. This was the business of war.
