Adventure
Void Travelers
Chapter 1: Screams “Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say.” These ominous words were uttered to me by my team leader right before we were about to launch into space on our farthest mission ever. I chalked it up to Gordan trying to say something profound before we were about to make history, but missing his mark and saying something not quite unusual, but not uplifting either. I can't remember exactly what I said, but it was along the lines of some witty response that you would hear in one of those sitcoms popular well over 60 years ago.

Lost
Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. Everyday I fight with myself about wanting to find out. The allure of launching myself into the cosmos, to return to the stardust that my cells originated from 14 billion years ago, is a feeling I struggle with often. Being lost in space will do that to you. Looking out through the viewport of my starfighter, I imagine what it would be like to float away into nothingness. The view would be incredible and the weightlessness of floating relaxing. Eventually, the oxygen in my X390 pilot suit would run out.

Worlds Away
"Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say." The words kept repeating in my head as I slowly floated away. When Genotech introduced the Armen safety pods, no one ever expected them to be necessary so soon. Off-world travel was still new to us, we had barely scratched the surface. Regardless, here I was drifting farther from my family.

Red Moon. Runner-Up in New Worlds Challenge.
“Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space... or so they say,” the hologram echoed. The hue of the digi-board’s synthetic lights electrified the miner’s byway, silhouetting the rush-hour crowd. McParlane turned away from the advertisement and limped down the tunnel street.

Experiment 86119
Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. I rather feel like I hear screams too often while looking at the vastness of the stars above me. Inhaling the salty air as I stand just close enough to the ocean for the water to roll over my feet, I ignore the subtle hues of different colored lights coming from me. Almost in a trance, I stand perfectly still as I await something I’m not a hundred percent certain of as a memory rises.

Prelude to Oblivion
Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. I am here to tell you that I believe you can. Well, some of us can. It’s all a bit complicated, and I am still sorting through the details. The “details”?? Hmmm… maybe the answer is in the details. What are the details, I wondered? And then I realized I can’t remember… ANYTHING. Not only are details fuzzy, but everything is fuzzy.
