Symphony of the Spheres

For February 23: Day 54 of the Story-a-Day Challenge

Fibonacci turntable.

God's radio is my seashell. Like most things of the divine, I find it in the simplest things. Children well know this.

Consider my conch.

I stand where earth meets sea, alone, and hold the spiral exoskeleton to one ear. Its Fibonacci construct focuses all the world's mysteries into divine harmonies for me to hear, bypassing the rational.

Such hearing is seeing. Such seeing is communion.

The conch shell amplifies the cosmic background radiation and scores it, well beyond the microwave, into a fugue that introduces the sequential contrapuntal themes that are the Music of the Spheres. Thus, it resonates the world — and beyond — to me, a Creational wave played on the turntable of the sacred — at 42 revolutions per epiphany.

I stand witness to the polytonal, as it takes a special ear to hear this broadcast--an inner, inner ear, to discern the important news while dismissing the things that do not matter. It is a celestial choir whose choral director conducts from eternity.

What I hear is panharmonic: discordancy flows through me in tandem with euphony, requiring a special forte for melody to see the dance it invites. I can hear both the sorrowful songs of those who suffer discordancy and the joyous songs sung by those who live by euphony. They are not adverse to each other, but synergistic, and that is the way of the world.

Thus I dance in opposing directions, my inertness belying a torrent of mindful motion that thunders Newton's Third Law about equals and opposites.

I hear the pandimensionally polyphonic: a poet may hear it better than a musician; an artist can create it for the mind's eye better than a camera. Such oscillations are the breaths of the Divine, and the smallest bones in my body reverberate with the greatest sounds in our universe.

Within it is a subsonic calling to atone, the lower registers of Gabriel's horn, sounding its epiphany for those who have discovered another way of listening.

One day I'll have the courage to lift a second seashell to my other ear, too. Dare I risk stereo? Will the broadcast pass through me? And if so, how can I possibly survive?

Not me reading conch as crotch 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Also, Newton's Third Law! God it's been like so long since I came across it. That's the one which said every action has an equal but opposite reaction, right? Loved your story!
