Twisted reality

I was a marine with a truck company in Afghanistan. We were attatched to a recon unit providing transportation for night ops. I have seen some crazy stuff. We even had a run in with the kandahar giant. It appear human but far from it. That was at that point the craziest, supernatural thing I had ever witnessed until I got out.

After my second tour in Afghan, I was a little bit of an adrenaline junkie. I loved being outdoors, adventure and exploring. After that much time in the sand box, I wanted to try something on the water. I moved to a small coastal town in Maine. I was on a sword fishing boat. Some of the old timers had some crazy stories and had it not been for the demon giant in afghan, I may have written off a old sea tales. Until one trip out off the coast of florida, we hit the worst storm I have ever seen. The thunder almost hurt my ears and pounded through my bones. The lightening like blinding white fire crashing into the water. The wind was swirling and the waves seemed to whirl around us like a frenzy of sharks planning to bring us down. The instruments in the sword boat spun and we lost power. Just then the lightening lit up the ocean and a huge wave fipped us. I got trapped in the captains quarters and could not break out. I thought, surely this is it, I was going to drown. I found an air pocket as I watched the other crew struggle to escape and panic as their lungs started to pulsate telling them to breathe. As the life drained from their body, I knew my fate would be one in the same. As the lightening spread it light through the cold dark waters, I seen the silouette of a great white shark. It had to be as long as the boat.  It was then I started to black out thinking drowning would be better than being eaten alive by this bohemath creature of the deep. Then, I dont know how long I was out but I was shocked to wake up. Even more shockingvthan not being dead, was where I woke up. Not on some beach but still under water, deep under water. There was a creature outside this cave that somehow had air. It communicated telepathically. It was like a mermaid from those old swordman tales but had the tail of a shark. Limbs and fists that could crush even the giant I saw in afghan. Its torso and arms were scaley. Not like fish scales but more reptilian. Its broad chest and arms were big enough to crush a whale. Its head and kneck was long and stout. There are no words but I would say like a dragon with long and curled horns. As it communicated to me, it was not a shark I had seen. It was him and the light before blacking out was a water fire from him to light the depths of the ocean. Thankfull to be alive but fearfull of this creature at the same time. This cave I was in smelled like burning flesh and I heard people screaming and chains rattling. The creature without me even asking, said " you are in the devils triangle. The cave you are in is an entance to hell".

"Why did you bring me here instead of letting me drown like the others", I asked the beast.

Without answering, he bolted off with a swift flick of his powerfull tail, he was gone. Left stunned and in unbelief of what I just seen, I went deeper into the cave. It was dim but there was enough light to see. Like a reflection from a camp fire dancing on the walls. As i got deeper into the abyss, there ground got soft then like quick sand. I begin to think maybe I wasnt alive, maybe I am dead and this is my journey to hell. After all I had done in the war, maybe this is what I deserved. I tried to come to terms with the horrible unknown fate that would soon befall me. The screams got louder and I heard the most blood curdling evil laugh that chilled my bones into pain. As the light begin to fade, I heard a roar piercing my ears and penatrating my body.  So deep that even the un natural thunder couldnt not drown it out. Then a flash of the purest, white light consumed me down to my soul. I could faintly see that creature coming back as fast as I remember the f 18s over head. I was not fearfull, he had saved me once but I really didnt know what to expect. I felt so tired that I just collapsed. Expecting hell fire and torture, I woke up on the sword boat. Floating and crew alive. We were heading for the storm I had seen prior to sinking. This time the captain instead of steadfast, hell bent to get to the sword waters past the storm, he got this horrified look in his eyes and came about. No one said a word the whole way to shore. To this day none of has has shared this experience with anyone. Maybe I am crazy but this was real. I have yet to experience anything more real. But it does get a little stranger. My eyes now see in full dark and I dont sleep. Ever!  Maybe the world we think is real is a dream and reality lies beyond in an unseen realm. Sweet dreams.
