Survival

Of the fittest

By Steve MoranPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Xeda ran on and on. She knew they couldn’t catch her. She had trained for this all her life.

Zodin was fast too, but he ate too much. And sex made him drowsy, while it gave her energy.

They would easily catch him, and their beasts would tear him apart.

She was prepared to sacrifice him, for she carried the new life.

All she had to do was cross the river. The beasts wouldn’t follow her, and on the other side were plenty of small animals, insects and berries.

Everything a fox would need to survive.
