Casper was out during a cold fall night. Dressed in her usual muted red and black My Chemical Romance shirt, fishnet sleeves, black and silver platform boots, black jeans and rainbow coffin earrings, she walked towards a house door, the night air blowing her pony-tailed blonde hair gently behind her. Slowly, she opened it and slipped inside the dark room, the door clicking shut quietly as she closed it. Casper snuck across the room, her boots making small thumping sounds on the wooden floor, and came to the couch, where there was a purse. Casper grabbed it and rummaged through it, until she found a wallet, which she opened and took some money from. She put the wallet back in the purse and walked out of her house, carefully closing the door behind her. Outside again, she walked to a bush, where she hid her muted gray-pink backpack with silver pins and put the money inside. Then she ran down the sidewalk, towards a small cluster of stores about a block away. Once there, she stopped, catching her breath and slowing down. She wasn’t exactly in a hurry, but she wanted to get away from her home as fast as possible. Casper took out a small slip of paper from her pocket and read it in the streetlight. Meet us at the Old Warehouse on Mobark Street at 11:30pm tonight. Bring whatever you feel is important - Fabien and Chem. The note was signed by her friends using their nicknames. She checked her phone once again. 11:29pm, it read. She walked towards an old building and stopped, thinking she saw movement near some trees. When no movement was seen again, she shrugged it off as her imagination and started pacing around the front of the Warehouse. She checked her phone again and again, until she heard laughter in the distance around 11:37pm. In the streetlight, two female figures emerged, one taller than the other. The laughter was coming from them. As they came closer, Casper was able to see them better. The taller one had a penguin hat, medium brown hair, glasses, a gray-blue jean jacket with a black undershirt, black leggings and black sneakers. She was Walking towards Casper with her hands in her pockets. The shorter one had shoulder-length dark-brown hair, a green t-shirt with a biohazard symbol on the top right part, an unzipped blue jacket over it, a red scarf, black leggings, black fingerless gloves and brown, ankle-height brown heel-less boots. She was waving to Casper, who waved back.

“Hey, Casper,” The taller one said.

What took you so long, Fabian?” Casper asked.

“Well... Chem and I got held up-”

“There was a robber trying to steal our things,” Chem interrupted.

“Yeah. And they’re chasing us,” Fabian finished.

“Wait, they are chasing you?!” Casper exclaimed. “There’s more than one??!”

“Pretty much”

“Are they armed?”

“Possibly”

“What do we do?”

“I don’t know”

“Wait, where’s Chem?” Casper looked around, and found her standing near a window, trying to pry it open to no success. They run over, trying to help, but the window’s locked.

“Anyone got anything heavy?” Chem asked.

“I do” Casper brings out a metal water bottle. “You guys better watch out” Fabian and Chem step back and allow Casper to break the window. It took a few tries, but she broke it eventually. Glass flew everywhere. Casper puts the water bottle back in her bag.

“I think I hear shouting and a car,” Fabian says. “Might be the robbers”. A black pick-up truck came into view.

“What do we do?” Casper asks.

“Either fight or hide. Let's see if they’re armed first. They weren't when they attacked us earlier.” Chem suggests.

“They weren’t, but they might be now” The pickup truck comes even closer and slows down. Inside are a few men. They take one look at Chem and Fabian and start getting out of the truck. As they get out, Casper sees that they have handguns. Chem and Fabian see them too and back up, slow enough for the men not to notice. All three men are out of the truck now.

“Give us your things and no one gets hurt,” the man in the front says in a growly voice. No one says anything, although Fabian and Chem move back, out of point-blank range. The man lifts his gun and fires into the air, a loud shot piercing the quiet night.

“This is your first, and final warning. If you don’t obey us, we will shoot you. Now, I will ask again. Give us your money, and there will be no trouble.” No one speaks or moves. It’s completely silent, not even a single breath can be heard. Then, finally, Casper speaks up.

“We’re not giving you our money, so you can get lost.” The man turns his gun towards Casper, who moves an inch back.

“Well, I suggest you do, little girl.” He aims. “Last chance.” No one moves, though Chem looks scared and Fabian is wide-eyed and pale. The man smiles and puts his finger on the trigger.

“Oh well. Another pretty face wasted.” A loud bang followed by a flash and a ringing in everyone’s ears.

“CASPER!” Chem and Fabian shout. But Casper is silent, bloody and dead.
