Special mom!

Mother

By Sakine BasaPublished 3 years ago 2 min read

My mother, who did not give up on me, decided to give birth and raise me even though the world turned against her decision. I was an unplanned, unexpected child and I didn't understand that when I was very small; but I learned it from my grandparents when I grew up.

When my mother got pregnant, she was 42. It was an unplanned, unexpected pregnancy. My mother struggled, worked a lot, raised my brother and sister alone. Dad... I don't want to talk about him, because he's not worth my time or attention because he wasted his not on family, but on friends and the bottle... So, mom practically raised two children alone and already thought she'd had enough of her life, when after many years, he suddenly felt a new life in his heart again. It was me.

My mother cried many tears, endured many sleepless nights, and was persuaded to have an abortion by her housemates. However, she felt disturbed by their words; they did not seem urgent or important to her. I was so big by then that my mother had no other choice but to keep me.

In the mother's eyes, that baby gave back the purpose of living, existing, and being to a tired woman who had lost the meaning of life. The decision was tantamount to tragedy in the eyes of others, but she didn't regret it for a moment!

It was difficult for her. The food and money were scarce, and she no longer had the same health. But the older children helped. The same relatives who refused to take me in, and I'm not angry at all. After all, when they offered to get rid of me, they only wanted what was good for my mother.

Although she never knew it, I needed my mother more than she needed me. She gave me life, comfort, support, warmth- in short, everything life is about. I am grateful to my mother for everything she has done for me throughout my life- from bearing my children and forming a very special bond with them to listening to her heart and choosing to give me a new lease on life when things went really bad.
