Dr. Audrey Wells was a groundbreaking scientist in the field of solar energy. She was passionate about harnessing the sun’s power to create a sustainable power generator.

Had you asked Dr. Wells' colleagues, they might have told you she took her work home with her. Not even they could have imagined just how true that adage would become.

One day Audrey was adjusting her experimental reactor, prepping for a solar storm that was predicted to be on its way. She was caught by surprise when the storm erupted much sooner than expected. Sooner and more powerful.

The intense surge of radiation pushed her lab to its limits. The doctor struggled to keep everything intact and running, but there was too much energy being directed through the equipment.

When the blinding blast of light engulfed the laboratory, Dr. Wells’ body acted as a conductor to the reactor. How she survived was a mystery she would never solve.

From all appearances, she was left unharmed when the solar storm subsided. Appearances can be deceiving, though. She immediately felt…transformed.

The sun seemed to course through her veins, through her neural system. She could feel the energy inside her body. It took some time to discover what that power had done to her – what she could do with it – but it never went away.

Trading in her lab coat for a spandex jumpsuit, Audrey Wells would become known to the world as Solaris. The reactor incident had left her with incredible superpowers, enabling her to absorb and manipulate solar energy. She could fly, generate powerful bursts of light, and emit devastating energy blasts from her hands.

Dr. Wells had, inadvertently, developed a sustainable power generator that was far beyond her imagination. It was her – Solaris.
