Silhouettes on Loch Ness
A Monstrous Micro-fiction from the Depths of Loch Ness
We gaze across the famous loch, eyes straining for a glimpse.
"What is that ahead?" asks Lee, pointing.
"I dunno..." I respond, squinting against the sun.
A serpentine shape slithers through the water. Rising humps - coils - bend high above the waterline.
"I see it! Look!" cries Lee.
"I see it too," I agree.
Shocked and excited, we tremble as we try to snap a picture as the humps begin to sink back below the waves.
In moments our glee dissipates. We've seen the beast, but it has left; we've no picture to document what we have seen.
About the Creator
Megan Baker (Left Vocal in 2023)
A fun spin on her last name, Baker enjoyed creating "Baker's Dozen" lists for various topics! She also wrote candidly about her mental health & a LOT of fiction. Discontinued writing on Vocal in 2023 as Vocal is a fruitless venture.
