Shark fest
A little girl's journey into the deep blue sea.

Jayla loved the Baby Shark Dance Song and sang it all the time but her brothers hated it. She would break out in "Baby shark do do do do do do do Baby shark do do do do dod do baby shark do do do do baby shark." She sang all the verses about the mommy, daddy, grandma, and grandpa shark. One day her family took a trip to the beach and 8 year old Jayla was excited. On this afternoon they were alone and had taken full advantage. She walked with her mom, and brothers Ty and Dre a long way in the sand then played beach ball. They romped in the water then sat down to dry off.

She now sat in the sand beside her mom and two brothers who were falling fast asleep. Just as Jayla dozed off she seemed to her the Baby Shark Song so she jumped up. She found herself looking out into the endless deep blue sea. Her family members were napping and fast asleep so she stood up and walked just a little closer to the water.
Jayla stood staring into the vast ocean until she thought she saw movement. The shark song seemed to be playing in slow motion only she did not know where it was coming from. She stepped a little further from the beach and a huge wave pulled the 8 year old out into the water. She was frightened and began screaming for her mom because she could not swim. Just as she was going under she felt something hoist her up above the billowing waves. Jayla reached down to hold on and realized she was riding on the back of a baby shark.
The little girl was frightened as the shark was carrying her far out into the vast ocean far away from her mom and brothers on the shore. It was slippery but she held on for dear life. After they traveled a little bit Jayla saw another shark coming towards them and she just knew her life was over. The baby shark did a jerk and Jayla flew through the air and landed onto the back of the larger shark which she assumed was the mother.
This shark took her further out into the ocean and suddenly Jayla lost her fear and decided to hold tight and enjoy the ride. The song playing shifted to the verse about the mommy shark but Jayla could not figure out where it was coming from. As they went across the ocean there was a breeze and a mist of the water hit her in the face. Her hair began curling and she felt so happy and free. As the tune shifted to "Daddy shark do do do do do d0 do" out of nowhere another larger shark appeared and the mommy shark did as the baby had done.
She hoisted Jayla into the air and the little girl landed on the back of the big shark whom she assumed was the daddy. He gave her quite a scare and as she rode she noticed that the shark population was growing and the ocean was filled with the beasts. There were at least 30 of the elasmobranch fish swimming around. She had learned that name from her mom during homeschool science class.

These were beautiful creatures as they soared under the water with their fins sticking out. They formed circles and seemed to dance and Jayla was mesmerized by their gracefulness. The school of sharks paid her no notice but when the daddy shark turned around she saw that the mom and baby shark were following close by.
Jayla was having the time of her life when coming up on the left were two large sharks that seemed pretty old. She clapped her hands and laughed with glee because she believed these to be the grandma and grandpa sharks just like in the song. As she waited for them to catch up the tune was moving forward with the verses about the grandma and grandpa shark.
The daddy shark lifted his head and jerked his body and Jayla was now on the back of the mommy shark. She noticed they were going in the opposite direction with the baby and grandparents following close. She looked back and saw the school of sharks were still circling in the ocean but they were further and further away. Jayla realized that they were now soaring in the direction of the beach and she was excited to be heading back to her family.
About halfway there the mommy shark passed her off to the baby and the grandma, grandpa, and daddy sharks were following pretty closely. The mother shark slowed up and allowed the others to catch up as Jayla and the baby shark kept going. Jayla was holding tight and as they neared the beach she began hearing the Baby Shark song but it sounded muffled as if she were hearing it in a dream. Jayla closed her eyes when she could see the beach in sight and decided to relish the rest of her journey.
She felt as though she were soaring through the air instead of riding through the ocean and she knew she would never have another experience quite like it. The baby shark let her off near the beach and Jayla gave it a pat on the head to say thank you. The shark lifted it's fins as if saying "You're welcome" and sped away towards the 4 sharks waiting just a little way out into the water. Jayla noticed that her mom and brother were still sleeping on the beach and had not even noticed that she was gone.
She began walking towards them and sat down because she was tired from her journey. Jayla fell asleep and continued to hear the baby shark song. It was not long before she felt her mother calling her name and tugging on her arm. Jayla sat up and was about to tell her family what a wonderful dream she had when her youngest brother Dre said something that startled her. He asked her how her swimsuit was still wet when the rest of them had dried off while sleeping in the sun.
Jayla's eyes widened but she just shrugged her shoulders and said not a word. Something caught her eye out in the ocean. She saw a baby shark splashing in the water as if trying to get her attention. Jayla waved at it seemed as if the creature winked an eye. It turned and began swimming towards what appeared to be 4 larger amphibians who jumped in the air as if addressing her as well.

Jayla continued waving until her brother asked what she was doing. She knew then that no one would ever believe her so she told him she was playing a game of pretending. She knew however at that moment that her dream had really happened to her. Again she heard the song which seemed to be coming from the ocean. "Safe at last doo doo doo doo doo doo, Safe at last doo doo doo doo doo doo, Safe at last doo doo doo doo doo doo safe at last."
Jayla continued starring into the sea as her mom and brothers were picking up the blankets. As the sharks swam out of sight she turned to help her family pack up she could faintly hear the song finally fading with the waves. "It's the end doo doo doo doo doo doo It's the end"!
