Shadows Of Blackridge Part 3
Shadows Of Blackridge Part 3

Chapter 3: Into the Shadows
The light of the morning spread over the hills of Blackridge, but Emily's mind was still echoing with memories of the night before. The time spent in the Shadow Hill Caves and the strange marks found there kept her mind restless. The fear in Sarah's eyes and the mystery of Alex's disappearance both shook her to the core. She knew that the truth hidden behind the mysterious shadows of the cave could be dangerous, but she was determined to uncover this mystery.
Emily woke up early in the morning and started preparing to go to the Blackridge market. She needed more information about the Shadow Hill Caves and their secrets. She had Alex's notebook and pictures of some marks found in the cave. These clues could help her move forward.
On the other hand, Emily saw a bookstore in an old part of the town. There was an old shopkeeper sitting there, whose eyes seemed full of experience and stories.
“I want to know something about Shadow Hill Caves,” Emily asked directly.
The shopkeeper looked at her and took a deep breath. “You shouldn’t have gone there. That place is cursed. Shadows live in those caves, who capture souls.”
Emily asked in surprise, “Shadows? What are they?”
The old man picked up an old book and started flipping through its pages. “Every story here ends with Shadows. People say that many people were sacrificed in the caves during some ancient ritual. Their souls have now become Shadows, which capture anyone who comes there.”
Emily didn’t completely believe it, but she couldn’t ignore these stories either. She took pictures of some pages from the book and thanked the shopkeeper.
Emily called Sarah.
“We have to go back to the cave,” she said.
“Emily, this is crazy. We saw yesterday how dangerous it is there. “We have to find Alex, but this is not the way to go,” Sarah said nervously.
“I understand, but we can’t wait any longer. If there are any more clues, we have to find them,” Emily said firmly.
After a little debate, Sarah agreed. They both took some essential items and left for Shadow Hill Caves.
When they reached the cave, the atmosphere had become even colder and more terrifying. This time Emily and Sarah decided to go deeper inside the cave. They had a flashlight, rope, and a camera.
Inside the cave, the walls had the same markings as they had seen before. But this time they saw dried blood stains going in one direction on the wall.
“These markings could be Alex’s,” Sarah said trembling.
Emily replied, “We should follow it.”
The blood stains were leading to the deeper part of the cave. The path was getting narrower, and there was a strange dampness all around. Suddenly, they reached a large chamber.
There was a stone altar in the middle of the chamber. Someone’s name was engraved on it—Alex Carter.
“What is this?” Sarah said in surprise.
Emily examined the surroundings of the altar. There were some lighted candles and a book lying there. She picked up the book. There were strange markings and letters on its pages.
“It looks like an ancient ritual book,” Emily said.
“Does this mean Alex was brought here for a ritual?” Sarah asked fearfully.
Emily didn’t say anything. She started reading the pages of the book carefully. It read: “The sacrifice awakens the Shadows.”
Just as they were preparing to leave the room, suddenly there were sounds inside the cave. It seemed as if someone was reciting mantras in a low voice.
“Emily, what is that?” Sarah asked nervously.
Emily turned the flashlight in the direction of the sound, but there was nothing there.
Suddenly, a shadow was seen running rapidly on the walls.
Sarah screamed and said, “This can’t be real.”
Emily held her hand and said, “We have to stay calm. This is all being done to scare us.”
But the shadow was slowly coming closer to them. Just then, some symbols started glowing on the wall of the cave. A strange light was emanating from the markings, making the shadows even more terrifying.
Suddenly, a piece of paper placed on a stone flew in the air and fell in front of them. Emily picked it up. It read:
“The ritual has begun.”
Emily and Sarah looked at each other. It was clear that this was all part of a larger conspiracy. Alex’s disappearance was just the beginning. The stories of Shadows, rituals, and sacrifices were now beginning to seem true.
“Emily, we have to get out of here,” Sarah said.
Emily nodded in agreement. They both began to walk quickly out of the cave. But there was a fear in their hearts that the Shadows would not let them go easily.
