In a small town tucked between misty hills, where the stars always seemed to shine a little brighter, there lived a woman with eyes like fire and a smile that knew secrets. People whispered about her-some said she was gifted, others said cursed. But all agreed on one thing: if you sought the truth, you had to look into her eyes.
One evening, a desperate traveler arrived, shrouded in worry. He had lost something precious-not gold, not jewels, but memories. They had slipped through his mind like water through his fingers, and he could barely recall his own name.
He found the woman dressed in black, sitting by a flickering candle. She met his gaze, her red-shadowed eyes glinting in the dim light.
"You seek what is lost," she said, her voice smooth, knowing. "But be warned-memories cut deeper than any blade."
The traveler swallowed hard. "I just want to remember."
She nodded, then placed her hand over his. A shiver ran through him as visions flooded back-his past, his joys, his sorrows. The good and the bad, all of it rushing into place like a puzzle reassembling itself.
When the vision faded, he was whole again.
"Thank you," he whispered.
But the woman only smiled, her eyes glimmering with something ancient. "Be careful what you seek next time. Some truths are meant to stay forgotten."
And just like that, she vanished into the night, leaving behind only the scent of candle wax and mystery.

Consistently being inconsistent. Multiple genres? You bet. My little brain never writes the same way. Most of these start out in the notes app on my phone...
