EMPATHY

By BUSHRA TANVIRPublished 3 years ago 9 min read

Once upon a time, in a small village nestled in a lush green valley, there lived a woman named Sarah. Sarah was known throughout the village for her unique ability to heal people with just a touch of her hand. She had been born with this gift, and had been using it to help the people of her village for as long as she could remember.

One day, a young boy was brought to Sarah's doorstep. His name was Jacob, and he was suffering from a mysterious illness that had left him weak and unable to move. His parents had taken him to every doctor and healer in the village, but none of them had been able to help him.

As soon as Sarah saw Jacob, she knew that she had to help him. She gently placed her hand on his forehead, and closed her eyes in concentration. Slowly, she began to feel a warm energy flowing through her body, and into Jacob's.

For several minutes, Sarah remained still, her hand resting on Jacob's forehead, as the energy continued to flow through her. Gradually, the boy's breathing became more regular, and the color returned to his cheeks.

When Sarah finally removed her hand, Jacob opened his eyes and smiled at her. He felt better than he had in weeks, and he knew that it was all thanks to Sarah's healing power.

News of Sarah's miraculous healing spread quickly throughout the village, and soon, people began coming to her from all over the region. They came with all manner of ailments, from broken bones to chronic illnesses, and Sarah healed them all with the same gentle touch and the same warm energy.

As time went on, Sarah became something of a legend in the village. People came from far and wide to seek her help, and she was always happy to oblige. For Sarah, healing was not just a gift, but a calling, and she knew that she had been put on this earth to use her power to help others.

And so, Sarah continued to heal people for many years, bringing hope and light into the lives of all those who came to her. Though she eventually passed away, her memory lived on in the hearts of the people she had helped, and her legacy continued to inspire generations to come.

As Sarah's reputation as a healer grew, people began to wonder about the source of her power. Some whispered that she was a witch, and that her gift came from dark magic. Others believed that she was a messenger from the gods, sent to bring healing to the people of the village.

But Sarah paid no attention to these rumors. She knew that her gift was a blessing, and that it had come from a place of love and light. She also knew that her healing power was not something that she could use lightly. She had to be careful with it, and use it only for the good of others.

Over time, Sarah became something of a spiritual leader in the village. People came to her not just for physical healing, but also for emotional and spiritual guidance. She listened to their problems, offered them words of wisdom, and helped them find peace in their hearts.

As she grew older, Sarah began to worry about what would happen to her gift after she was gone. She knew that she could not take it with her, and she wanted to make sure that it would be passed on to someone who would use it wisely.

And so, Sarah began to search for an apprentice. She looked for someone who was kind, compassionate, and open-hearted, someone who would use their gift for the good of others, just as she had done.

Finally, she found a young woman named Rachel. Rachel was a gentle soul, with a deep love for the natural world and a natural talent for healing. Sarah took her under her wing, and taught her everything that she knew about the healing arts.

Together, Sarah and Rachel healed countless people, and their reputation as healers spread even further. But Sarah knew that her time was running out, and she began to prepare Rachel to take over her role as the village healer.

Before she passed away, Sarah called Rachel to her bedside. She placed her hand on Rachel's forehead, just as she had done with so many others before her, and transferred her healing power to her.

Rachel felt a surge of energy flowing through her, and she knew that she had been chosen to carry on Sarah's legacy. She vowed to use her gift with wisdom and compassion, just as Sarah had done before her.

And so, the healing power that had started with Sarah continued to flow through the village, bringing comfort and hope to all those in need. And though Sarah was no longer there in person, her spirit lived on in every healing touch that Rachel gave.

Years passed, and Rachel became known throughout the village as a healer of great skill and compassion. She continued to help people with a wide range of ailments, from minor cuts and bruises to more serious illnesses.

But she never forgot the lessons that Sarah had taught her. She knew that healing was not just about physical health, but about emotional and spiritual wellbeing as well. And so, she took the time to listen to her patients, to understand their needs, and to offer them guidance and support.

Rachel also became a mentor to other healers in the village. She taught them the skills that she had learned from Sarah, and encouraged them to use their gifts for the good of others.

As she grew older, Rachel knew that it was time to start looking for an apprentice of her own. She searched for someone who shared her values and her commitment to healing, and eventually found a young woman named Lily.

Lily was eager to learn, and Rachel saw great potential in her. She took her under her wing, just as Sarah had done with her so many years before, and began to teach her everything she knew about the healing arts.

And so, the cycle continued, with each new generation of healers passing on their gifts and their knowledge to the next. And though Sarah and Rachel were no longer there in person, their legacy lived on, in the healing touch of every person they had helped, and in the hearts of all those who had been touched by their compassion and their wisdom.
