A little over a week after their adventures to Antarctica and Death Valley the gang were looking at their crops and trees. Everything was full-grown and ready to harvest. Looking at the rows of Wheat, the humans were shocked at how quickly everything grew.

Then Jodi walked up to her pear tree and took one, looked at it, then took a bite. “This is the best pear I’ve ever tasted.”

She handed it to John who took a bite “Wow, this is amazing, it’s so sweet.”

He then handed it to Mike who also took a bite “I usually don’t like pears, but this one is quite tasty.”

The aliens picked a pear and each took a bite “The fruit on your planet is like no other I have tasted.” Vocar commented.

“We can quickly harvest your crops.” Ripar said

“Well, that would be nice but you won’t always be here to do the work for us. We should do it ourselves. You could help to see how we humans work.” Jodie replied

Ripar looked at his fellow aliens and nodded “It’s a deal.”

Mike showed the aliens how their technology harvested the wheat and then started working himself. They worked all day until dusk, taking breaks to drink and eat. After the day was done, they were over half done.

“You do this every year? This is the hardest I’ve ever worked in my life.” Ripar said

“Well, when you have technology helping you the way yours does, you can take it easy. We have to do everything ourselves. It’s hard work but it’s what we have to do.” John answered

“We usually hire a crew of people to help us but how would we explain this? We’re going to have to sell these a few towns over so people don’t ask questions.” Mike commented

“Before you leave can you plant the crops without the quick grow ray for us so we can bring them into town when they grow?” John asked

“We’d be glad to” Vocar said with a smile

Jodi patted Vocar on the shoulder “Thank you. I’m to tired to cook, we’ll go eat in town?”

“Sounds like a good idea.” John said while wiping sweat off his forehead

Jodi smiled fanning her nose “Everyone shower first before we go, you smell. You guys don’t sweat or smell though.” She commented to the aliens

“No, we can fake the sweat if you want?” Ripar winked and smiled

Jodi took some dirt in her hand and threw it at Ripar. “You do get dirty though.”

Ripar shifted into new clothes.

“Smartass.” Jodi said laughing “Ok, I’m starved, let us humans get ready.”

“Get ready and meet us in our ship, we have to do some work that’ll take a little bit of time. We should be almost done by the time you’re ready.”

“Are there any alien restaurants out there.” Mike asked

“No, you’re the only species we’ve seen that has restaurants, shops, clubs and such. Humans are very unique. Other races have their own types of music and writings, but they don’t congregate together like you do. They’ll meet and eat together, and they’ll meet with other tribes, but humans are more social.” Ripar answered

The three humans went to their rooms, took showers, changed into clean clothes and met the aliens in their ship. Jami was wearing a nice yellow summer dress with mid-sized heals, Mike and John were both wearing blue jeans and button-down shirts, Mikes shirt was red and Johns was black.

“We could eat anywhere in your world if you like? We do have a ship that can cloak. Where would you like to go?” Roj suggested

“The problem with that is the places I’d want to go out of the United States are probably closed because it’s late. Different time zones, unless we go to Canada or Mexico which still has a time difference but only 2-4 hours. How about Hawaii, maybe we can hit up a Luau? The problem is it’s 3pm there, but we can get a snack and wait to eat?” Jami suggested

“That sounds like fun, plus Hula dancers.” Mike said with a smile

“You’re such a man Mike.” As she looked at John who also had a big smile on his face. “And you too John.”

“What are Hula dancers?” Ripar asked as he tapped on the console. “Aaahhhh, ok. Putting the video on the big screen for everyone to see. “It’s a very pretty dance...and they fling fire. I like this Hula dancing.”

Roj and Vocar nodded.

“I guess we’re going to Hawaii, let's get our bathing suits.” Mike said while walking to the bedroom

“Bathing suits?” Roj asked

“Yes, what we swim in. Hopefully we can get some ocean time. I hear Hawaii has some of the nicest beaches.” Mike answered “We’ll be back in a second.”

The three went back to the house and got their bathing suits, then walked back to the ship. “Ok we’re ready.”

“Good, I can finish while we fly to Hawaii.” Vocar said

The ship took off and Ripar made the walls invisible. They flew over different terrain and the group looked. They flew over Idaho, Navada, California and then over the ocean to Hawaii. They hovered over the little island for a bit.

Staring at the screen Vocar said “This island is beautiful. Look at all the trees and the beaches. There is a waterfall and a volcano.”

“We can tractor beam us down and then have the ship land here.” Ripar pointed to a secluded place on the other side of the island.

“Is this going to hurt?” Mike asked

“No, not one bit. We can put ourselves down here.” Pointing at the map again. “This isn’t a far walk to where other humans are.”

They went to the cargo bay and opened the door. Ripar pressed a button on the computer on his wrist and a beam of light picked them up and lowered them to the ground below. The humans watched as they were slowly and gracefully lowered.

“Wow, that was really cool.” John whispered

They walked to where other people were and looked around.

“There is a restaurant if we want to get a snack.” Jodi said

“Ok” a few people answered

They walked into a restaurant called “Moku Roots and went to the counter to order. Looking at the menu they didn’t know what to get.

“Oooh, they have chocolate chip pancakes!” Ripar gleefully pointed out

“MMmmmm, that sounds good.” Vocar said

Jodi put an arm around Ripar and Vocar and said “The Buffalo Cauliflower Bites look good, as does the Taro Burger. Why don’t we get some of each and share?”

“Sounds good to me.” they answered in unison, then looked over at Roj who gave a thumbs up and a smile.

“May I help you?” A pretty woman with a blue tank top asked

“Yes, we’ll have 3 orders of Chocolate chip pancakes, Buffalo Cauliflower bites and a couple of Toro Burgers.” Jodi answered

“And to drink?”

“Six Lavendar Lemonade’s.”

“Thank you.”

The price showed up on the register and John gave his credit card. “I got it.” he said kissing Jodi on the cheek.

“Thanks, Hun.”

“Thank you, we’ll bring the food out to you when it’s ready, have a seat and enjoy your meal.”

“Thank you!”

They sat down at a table by the window and watched the people walking around. Another woman in a pink shirt came with their drinks. “Your food will be out shortly.” She said with a smile

Jodi took a sip “Wow, this is really good and refreshing.”

“We’re lucky we live a ways away from our neighbors, can you picture if Scott or Brian saw our crops and trees now?” John said

“We’d have some explaining to do.” Mike answered

“Guy’s let's not think of that now. Today, right now, we’re in paradise! No work talk.” Jodi said patting John on the shoulder

Jodi smiled “So tonight we’ll eat at a luau, we may have to take some of this food home so we don’t stuff ourselves.”

“Yeah, let's not stuff ourselves.” Mike winked and smiled

The food came and they dug in, each of them having a bit of everything. When they felt content enough, they got to-go boxes, finished their drinks and left.

“Ok, beach time.” Jodi said “Let's go to the restroom so we can change. Here are your suits.” Jodi took the bathing suits out of her bag

The humans went into the bathroom and came out in their bathing suits. Johns was a light green; Mikes was blue with red stripes and Jodi was wearing a red bikini with yellow flowers on it. The aliens looked at them.

“No shirts? And Jodi, yours barely covers you.” Ripar said

“Most people dress like this for the beach.” Jodi answered

“Ok.” Ripar shrugged

On the way to the beach, they walked into a swim shop and looked around for ideas on what to change into.

Jodi helped Vocar find a nice bathing suit, she picked up a white bikini with leaves on it “how about this one?”

“I guess. What do you think?”

“Let's go into a changing room and have a look.”

“Alright, we don’t know what human’s bodies look like, so we may need to see them to copy them.”

“Ok.” “Hey guys, come here.” John and Mike walked over “Umm, you two are going to have to get naked for Ripar and Roj so they can get the body parts right.”

“Ummmm, that’s a little weird but ok.” Mike said and John nodded blushing

They all went into their dressing rooms and a few minutes later came out, even redder than before.

“Guys, why are you red? You’ve seen each other naked before.”

“Yes, but not for this reason. We should buy these suits to not seem conspicuous?” Said John

“Good idea, do you like the ones you picked out? You’ll have to wear them.” Jodi asked

“Yes, both said.”

They paid and left the store, then walked to a secluded place while the aliens changed into their bathing suits.

“How do we look.” Roj asked

“You three look great.” Jodi answered

Mike and John gave a thumbs up and a smile.

The three of them walked to the beach and sat on the sand looking at the water. Jodi got up and ran into the water.

“Come on in, the water is great.”

The rest of the gang joined her. They splashed around, diving under the waves. How lucky were they to make friends with three aliens?

A few hours later Mike said “We should get ready for the luau. We need to find one that’s close to here.”

They walked up to a stranger “Miss, do you know where the closest luau is.”

The lady smiled “Yes, I’m going to one, you can join me if you like. I’m meeting my husband there.”

“We’d love to, thank you. I’m Jodi, this is John, Mike, Ripar, Vocar and Roj.”

“It’s pleased to meet you; I’m Samantha and we’re meeting my husband Mike as well. Might get confusing.”

“You can call me Michael and him Mike.”

“I guess that works.” Samantha smiled

They walked to the luau and Samantha introduced them to her husband. They all sat down and ate, drank, and had a great time. It's too bad they couldn’t stay longer, but after the luau they had to head back home.
