Rain

William’s POV

I make my way around the room Mina’s arm wrapped around mine, my father stood in the far corner watchin, he’s always watching. we go about greeting the guests, “congradulations.” They keep saying, I want to tell them not to say that but I can’t tell why. I eyed the food on the left side of the room and tried to move Mina towards that way, “I want to dance.” Mina moaned tugging on my arm, until I felt a hand on my other arm, I look to find Mae holding onto me. “Come with me.” she said with authority. I pull away from Mina and lean down to whisper in her ear “I’ll dance with you after, for now my little sister needs me.” I said going along with Mae. She pulled me to the right side of the room where the drinks are and handed me something pink and sparkly. She leaned up and whispered in my ear “this will help you remember.” I wasn’t sure what she meant but I took a sip anyway, I knew that whatever she meant it must have been important. she Grabbed my arm and pulled me farther back toward the wall where a woman was standing, she was beautiful. She reminded me of someone but I couldn’t quite out my finger on who. She was standing next to the wall, her hands behind her back I walked over and extended my hand, “hello, I’m William.” I watched her chew on her lip for a moment then she took my hand and smiled softly “Chloe, congratulations by the way…she’s….beautiful.” I blinked for a moment thinking of who she could mean, my mind was so fuzzy I couldn’t really remember what was going on. “well, it’s a long story.” I replied, feeling my heart speed up. There was something about her, I couldn’t put my finger on it but I knew I didn’t want to leave her. “Would you like to dance?” I asked still holding onto her hand. “…yes?” She said half asking, she followed me onto the dance floor then I turned to her and put my free hand on her lower back and we swayed in union.

we stayed like this for two songs before Mina came over and asked for me to dance with her, shugging her off I smiled down at Chloe, before she pulled away and looked away from me. “You should dance with your fiancé.” She said quietly, so quiet I almost couldn’t make out the sadness in her voice. “Yes, William. You should dance with your fiancé.” My father said sharply, Chloe’s head shoots up at him and he smiles at all of us before he wraps one arm around me, “sorry ladies, William will be heading out for the night.” My father stated, I looked between the three of them then let out a hard sigh and turned going with my father.

my father led me upstairs, Mina followed quietly behind us, i glanced behind to find her arms folded and her face in a scowl. “Where are we going?” I asked my father, he didn’t answer but kept walking, we walked down until we reached a set of double doors, there were two men standing by the doorway, as we got closer I recognized them from earlier today. My father gave them a nod and they opened the door to a dark corridor, we kept walking a bit until we reached another door. “This is where it will end, you will go by yourself from here.” He stated before opening the door for me, “I’m not going.” I stated before trying to turn around. My father had grabbed me and wrapped his arm around my neck. “What are you doing?” I asked, “you will go through that door now.” He commaneed. I let out a hard sigh and my father let go, i turned and walked through into the other room.
