“I’ve gotta get you to your house,” Kim said as the coasted through the Wilmington streets.

“Okay.”

“Okay? That’s it? No protest?”

“i was going to fight you but that would be futile,” Yawquisha said.

“Tell me what you saw,” Kim commanded.

“I know that there was a huge explosion of that truck. I didn’t see faces but I captured the height of one of the ones you didn’t go after.”

“I had my first kill in the line of duty as a cop,” Kim announced.

“Cherry popped,” Yawquisha sighed.

“It was like in the Corps but not like in the Corps. I wasn’t in some third world wasteland. I was at home and these kids have rocket launchers. That was some next level shit for the streets of Delaware, USA.”

“They took down my live. You know you can’t show acts of violence without blurring out stuff. I don’t have that in my editing software…yet. I had up to four thousand viewers. But it’s cool. My commentary scored over four hundred thousand views. Why I gotta go home?”

“I’ve got to report everything. The dead suspect had a lot on him. Some information that could be crucial to these cases.”

“I can’t go with you?”

“That’s the fight I expected…no, no you can’t. You can’t even be in the car.”

“What if I just sat here?”

“We’re talking about the police force. I think we both know what could happen to a curious young woman in police custody. Let’s not make the news for another incident on a minority female violated by cops. Let’s not do that.”

“I can at least tell you where the other ones went.”

Kim looked at Yawquisha.

“What do you know?”

“I know I can offer my word as testimonial against those baddies that got away.”

Kim shook her head. “Alright, you can file a police report when we get there. Make sure you’re specific and tell what you told me and what you recorded. That may have to be taken down and used as evidence.”

“Let’s do that after the Ultra Chats and the donations and advertising.”

“Sorry, that is going to all be property of the Delaware State Police. I’ll consider you a key witness in the trial when we find those responsible for taking Dick’s life.”

“Pause.”

“Come on, this is serious, Yawkisha. He wasn’t even twenty.”

“Okay.”

The vehicle pulled up to the station. Kim put the car in park.

“Remember what I said. Admit your phone as evidence and fill out the report with everything you know that you didn’t capture on video.”

“Okay.”

With a stride of confidence and determination, the two women entered the office. Applause surrounded them.

Sergeant Calvin Dodding, another retired Marine-turned-cop walked around Kim with his first fingers shaped like a gun and shouting.

“First kill! First kill!”

“Dodding please shut the hell up.”

“Yes, ma’am.”

Dodding went down the hall.

“Yawkisha, go to that window….”

“I know. This is not my first time.”

“Okay. I’ve gotta lotta paperwork to complete. If you have any trouble, if you get hungry, there’s—”

“A cafeteria down the east wing.”

“You’ve got this,” Kim reminded her.

After Kim talked to the desk sergeant Takina Wallace, she passed through the hallway, Yawkisha stepped to Takina.

“Just fill out these forms,” she informed Yawkisha. The young lady took the pad and pen and jotted all that she remembered. They placed her cellphone in plastic. She smirked. Yawkisha felt like she was a young Zapruder in the game.

She used her whole mind to recall everything she saw and then slammed the pen on the pad.
