“Of course she’s telling the truth. We went through her background. Marine Commando regiment. Rifle and pistol expert. She knew what she was doing,” Darby mentioned.

Kim unfolded her arms and walked past the two agents. I’m going to need more time with her. Quish’, stay out here on this one.”

Yawquisha obliged. She didn’t move her camera but it was like a salute that she rendered to Kim.

“Did you have any romantic involvements with any of these young men?”

“None.”

“So you just admired their talent.”

“That’s right.”

Yawquisha videoed the St. Kitts and Darby bicker about Kim’s interrogation style.

“I mean, yes, she got her to confess, maybe. Hopefully.” Darby stuffed his hands in his pockets.

In the interrogation room, she looked around without a sense of nervousness. Kim stared at her eyes which were beyond a thousand yards.

“So, you had a relationship, were romantically linked to Parton.”

“No. I respected his business acumen. That's it.”

“How did you pick off the victims? Were you methodical?”

“I had to be. Look how long it took for you to find me. If I didn’t want the electric chair, I wouldn’t have let myself get caught.”

Kim looked like a spark had just flashed and the room grew larger for her.

“Another confession. You are being recorded for the investigation, again.”

“I know.”

Her insolence seemed to be even more pronounced with her just being in the room without Yawquisha. Kim prowled like a puma. She walked around the table and noted the cuffs and her brown arm shackled to it. She looked at her watch.

“Was that sandwich enough? Are you getting hungry?”

“I’m fine. I don’t even need a lawyer. I’m fine by myself. Whatever y’all have—”

“Stop right there. You’re not going to be by yourself until you’re on death row. Solitary.”

She looked around and her face looked like a sheet of ice. The coldness coursing through her veins was glacier temperature. She showed no indication that she was sorrowful or remorseful for her actions. Kim breathed.

“If you fully understand that you’re literally in a life or death situation. If you serve life you’ll probably get 100 years. But you’re going to have to go to Pennsylvania or New Jersey to fulfill your dream of the death penalty. That dream can come true if you continue this route.”

Kim left the room as if wings had grown on her back. She felt light telling a confessed murderer about her reality.

Yawquisha was prepared with the camera and captured the detective leaving the room. Darby and St. Kitts seemed to rush towards Kim. They then recessed a bit.

“So we have two confessions. Full and unequivocal. What do we say we get these uniforms back in here and cart her to her cell.”

“Wait!” Kim exclaimed. “We have to make sure that she is monitored. We don’t want a suspicious death or suicide on our hands.”

“But she’s so adamant about letting the State take her life. The woman wants to die. It’s like she didn’t get blown up or shot down overseas. She’s long-range wishing to be involved in suicide by police.”

Kim looked at her watch. “I’ve been thinking about it a long time and I think we should be able to take her at her word. This should be held in Delaware. She should spend the rest of her life contemplating the lives that she stole. The mamas, papas, aunts, uncles, grandparents, brothers and sisters and cousins deserve for her to do more than just die by the hands of the State. If we give her at least a thousand years, we ought to see justice.”
