Put the Glass Down

A professor began his lecture with a glass of water in his hand. He held the glass of water up for all to see and said:

''How much does the water in this glass weigh?''

''50 grams''

''100 grams''

''125 grams''

The students answered.

The professor responded as follows:

''I don't know exactly how much water is in this glass..But I want to know one thing from you..what will happen if I hold this glass of water like this for a few minutes..

''Nothing will happen''the students replied..

''Okay, then what will happen if I hold it like this for an hour''

''Sir, your hand will start to hurt,'' the students replied again.

''Exactly then what will happen if I hold this glass of water for a day''the the professor asked again.

''Sir, your hand will go numb and you may get a serious illness,and you will definitely have to stay in the hospital.''

When a naughty student said this, everyone laughed.

''Very good. Then did the weight of the glass change every time..''

''No'' the students replied.

''Then why do I have a pain in my hand and have to stay in the hospital..''

The students were shocked. Then one of the students cried out He said.

''Sir, it happens because you are holding that glass. That is why you should put the glass down.''

Problems in life are like this...

If we keep them in our heads for a few minutes, we can handle them..

But if we keep them in our heads for an hour, they start to hurt..

The longer we keep them, the more they hurt.. In the end, we cannot do anything. It is important to think about the problems that come into our lives.
