Rain pelted the window. Jessica Spring sighed. She heard a knock on the door. She answered and met the most gorgeous man she ever met in her life. He wore a white suit with a red shirt underneath. His white tie contrasted nicely with the vibrant red shirt.

“Are you ready for the most romantic evening of your life?” Cupid asked. His voice was richer and smother than velvet. Her face light up like a burning Christmas tree.

“I am,” she said. Her voice was a husky whisper. She stepped aside and allowed him to pass. She caught a whiff of his aftershave and she wept between her legs. She closed the door.

“I hope you don’t mind but I brought my own champagne,” Cupid said.

“Sure,” she said. “I don’t mind; I’ll go get a couple of glasses.” She disappeared into the kitchen.

She returned to the living room quickly with glasses in hand. She handed him one and sat beside him on the sofa. He smiled as he poured her a glass first.

“Your emerald eyes sparkle; they dazzle me more than a sunset in Venice,” Cupid boasted. Jessica smiled and her cheeks tinted pink.

“H-have you been to Venice?” she stuttered.

“Once or twice,” Cupid said. “Tell me about yourself,” Cupid insisted.

“I’m a pianist,” she said. “Everyone says my music tends to sound a bit melancholic.”

“Why is that?” Cupid asked. His blue eyes were studying the contours of this underrated beauties’ face.

“I guess I’m just looking for the Prince Charming to my Cinderella. She looked away. She had always been told by her father that she was prone to whimsical fancy.

“Do you believe in happily ever after?” Cupid asked.

“I do,” she said. “Don’t you?” she asked.

“For other people,” Cupid admitted.

“But not for you?” Jessica asked.

“I provide love to others,” Cupid said.

“You’re allowed to love too you know,” she said. He chuckled.

“I know; I guess having love for myself would just be selfish,” Cupid lamented.

“Why would it be selfish,” Jessica asked. “You have wants, desires, and needs.”

“That I do,” he said clinking his glass to hers.

“So why not take a chance on love?” she asked. He nodded.

“You’re right. Why shouldn’t I enjoy love?”

She placed her hand in his and looked longingly in his icy blue eyes. He leaned in and their lips met. She moaned as she leaned into his kiss. He gently rubbed her sides, exploring her curves. She wrapped her arms around his neck and lost herself in passion. Limbs writhed and slithered. Hands explored places the other person had forgotten about. As they lay entangled in one another’s arms, all sweaty and spent, Jessica asked him one simple thing.

“Will you stay?”

“I’ll stay until the sun becomes the moon,” Cupid said. “I’ll stay even when we’re old and gray. I’ll stay until my dying breath. That final breath will be used to declare my love for you.” She wept at this and held him close to her. She rested her head on his chest; she was just listening to his heart beat.

“I found my Cupid and I have but one wish to declare,” she said. Cupid ran his fingers through her hair and her eyes fluttered shut.

“And what’s your wish my love?” he whispered. She became butter melting in his embrace. She burned with passion and became a school girl again. Her crush had noticed her. Every failed relationship, and every guy that had ever rejected her, did not matter anymore. Every tear shed in her lonely room became worth it in this moment. It was because she had found her Prince Charming…her Cupid!

“I want all girls to find their Cupid too,” Jessica declared while snuggling up close to her man.
