In his time, black man Anders Garr never thought he’d possess the power. He walked and stopped and thought…and thought. Everyone and everything around him stopped as well.

The time just froze with every thought. Then he thought again and whole city blocks resumed their activity. He marveled at this.

Then a car struck him. He was still alive and injured considerably. He tried to think. He wanted a doctor desperately. He couldn’t think clearly because he was unconscious. He lived in a dream about living and flourishing. He died without waking to change the time. No one helped him.
