"Oh God!, it's another scorching hot afternoon," Joshua said as he was taking his last reinvigorating break of the day. He sauntered to the parking lot to get his phone from inside his vehicle - with a blue towel draped around his neck. It was kept there constantly during his breaks - to wipe the sweat from his face.

As he approached the area where his vehicle was parked, he ambled to his Jeep because he hadn't viewed his messages since he left home that morning at 6:30 a.m.- he was avoiding his wife's texts that day, because it had been a long week.

He paused a few seconds. Then, he took a hesitant stride up to the vehicle, opened the door and sat down. "Man, it feels like a broiling heat wave in here!", he bellowed - while expeditiously cranking the engine. He whirled the ac on, but it blew out, annoying cool air.

Suddenly, Joshua felt irate as he turned off the engine, and exasperated as he let down the 4 windows. He thrust his head onto the headrest and yelped, "I'm serious, not today. I'm too exhausted for this."

Joshua mollified his anger by wiping his face with a wet wipe that was inside of the Jeep's glove compartment. Then, he began to review his phone's messages - it was just as he thought. Melinda had texted ceaselessly.

Joshua lurched out the Jeep, and poised himself with an anguished countenance, in front of the hood - clutching his device with a painstaking grip, while contemplating what he would say, because every Friday night he and Melinda had a standing date.

He stared at the phone's screen and then began to type with meditative reasoning.

"Hey baby, uh, about tonight - I'm tired, so maybe" -

Suddenly, another text surged in from Melinda, which read:

"Hey Josh, this is my 5th time texting you. Bae, where are you? I'm selecting my outfit now and I crave to hear your thoughts. I await your presence. I hope you're not too tired because I yearn to sensually dance with you under 'a green light!' - lol"

Joshua sighed and mumbled, "Well, so much for being tired." Then, he peered around the parking lot in enthralling thought and marginally smiled, because Melinda mentioned the green light.

"What a memorable night it was as Melinda succumbed to my innermost passion of holding her sultry body next to mine, while we lustfully glared at the unforgettable lights on the trodden paved parkway at Christmas time.

The contrasting colored bulbs were casting such a romantic shadow - especially the green ones. Joshua exhaled and continued to reminisce. Ah man!, Melinda was so sexy as we cradled each other beneath the holiday lights at the city's Marina.

Joshua exhaled and whispered "Yeah!, what - 'a green light' night it was" He paused, sighed peacefully and gazed at the phone's screen and replied -

"Uh, hey sweetums! I'm sorry for not texting back. Today has been super busy and excruciatingly hot. I'm sure whatever you've selected to wear will be alluringly fabulous, nestled upon your curvaceous body. See you tonight, under a green light - lol."

He positioned the phone in his Jeep's mobile device caddy and began trudging toward the construction site. There was a bulldozer about 20 yards away. When Joshua was passing it, he tossed his blue towel onto the worn leather seat for safe keeping.

The walk to the construction site was extensive and there were 2 culprits that tried to keep him from finishing the last hour of the day - their names were heat and sweat.

But, Joshua had his straw hat on to stay cool from the torrid heat. It was the one that Melinda had bought him, to keep the sun from beaming down upon his head.

All of a sudden, he realized that it had been 2 weeks since he had bought his wife something special to show his appreciation of her love and kindness toward him.

He began to mutter, "Hmmm, what can I give to my lady? Should it be some herbal bath bombs, or maybe a container of heart shaped bon bons? Oh!, what about a cookie with the word "yes" written on it - to signify my life long reply to her every desire. Now, that would be awesome!"

Joshua peered at his watch and realized he had 5 minutes until his break ended. He paused from walking and leaned upon a barrel to ruminate the ideas in his mind - "Well, maybe, I'll do all 3, because a gem like Melinda could never have too many gifts!" he proudly thought.

Then, he commenced to reminiscing about the times he'd surprised Melinda - And, a huge smile cascaded upon his face. He began to cogitate upon of how unique their relationship was - and the things that Melinda does to make him feel blessed to have her, in his life.

She would run his shower, scratch his back without complaining and cook his favorite comfort foods.

As Joshua reflected more, all he could think about was how grateful Melinda responded when she received gifts from him -whether big or small. He once sent Melinda rainbow colored flowers with a note attached that said -

You are my treasure at the end of every tomorrow.

Joshua took off his straw hat, placed it to his heart - and then laid it upon the barrel. He glanced at his watch and headed back to the site. When he arrived he put on the company's hard hat - and trotted over to the 10 metal beams. He picked up 3 and started carrying them to the stack.

The veins within his neck and arms were bulging, but the load didn't matter, because the anticipation of surprising Melinda after work - ignited more determination within him - to finished early.

He approached the drop off area, laid the beams down and began to tiresomely meander to the bulldozer to fetch his towel. He peeped at his watch and noticed it had stopped - so he started winding it while continuing to walk. He kept peering at his watch until he arrived at the bulldozer.

All of a sudden someone yelped out. "Here you go muscle man," Sandra stood smiling. Joshua hurriedly looked up and took the towel with a puzzled face and said, "Oh, hey!" He paused for a second while glancing at her. Then he said, "you're new?"

She gazed at him and then took 1 end of his towel and wiped her face. Joshua gaped at her strangely - wondering why she was touching his towel. Then she pointed and replied, "No, I work on the other side". Joshua looked across the construction site. "Oh!, way over by those bins." He looked back at Sandra, and she was gazing at him.

She then took the same end of the towel and attempted to wipe his face.

Joshua put his hand up gently and said, "Nope, I can take it from here, thanks". He took the towel out her hand. Then, she put both hands up, stepped back and pompously said while rubbing her hips, "Well, if you change your mind - all of this feminine voluptuousness will be a holler away."

She turned harshly and began walking back towards the bins. Joshua yelped, "I'm good, you're not my type" and shook his head in unbelief of what had just happened.

He wiped his face and laid the towel on the bulldozer and took a gulp of electrolyte filled water.

He then closed the cap, placed the keg on the bulldozer's seat, and hurriedly began sprinting back to the 7 metal beams to put them on the stack. All of a sudden he felt burning. So, he slowed down and walked the rest of the way.

Joshua arrived at the beams. He bent down and picked up 3 more and took them to the stack - while thinking about his dates with Melinda, and some of the clothing that she wore. He eased the beams down and walked back to get the others.

"Lawd, could it get any hotter" he muttered. Joshua paused for a few seconds to fantasize about how the clothing accentuated his wife's shapely curves.

He bent down to pick up the last 4 beams and his legs buckled a little as he took the metal to the stack. He eased them down, jumped straight up and glanced at his watch. "Lawd, it's 6:00, I should've left 15 minutes ago. He started sprinting again and the burning became more sharper.

Joshua slowed down to a snail's pace. He stopped to grab his towel, and water keg off the bulldozer.

All of a sudden, he heard Sandra hollering, "See you tomorrow muscles." Joshua slightly waved without looking her way and kept walking. He peered at his watch again and it was 6:10.

His co - workers began to greet him. He nodded and kept going up to the security gate - and put in the code but an error message came up. Joshua bellowed, "Come on man!, I ain't got time!"

Then he breathed in, exhaled out, and coolly said, "Okay, calm down Joshua - just re-enter the code again." Suddenly, the gate poles began to rise slowly. He glanced at his watch. "Now look, it's 6:20!", he yelped. The poles lifted barely above his waist. He bent under them, rose back up and began to painfully speed walk.

He rubbed his head and yelped, "I ain't gonna make it!, because the South bridge is always slightly busy this time of the day. I need a miracle!" Joshua, reverently put up praying hands and said, "Please Lawd, let every green light be delayed - so I can effectively pass on through, because a citation is not an option."

Joshua walked into the parking lot while scanning his watch. Then, he looked up. halted and exclaimed "dang, that was a fast miracle!" - Melinda was standing at his Jeep. He began to amble very slowly towards her.

He stood and gawked at her. Then, he whispered "Hey my lady, I had the impression from yesterday - your Mercedes was getting new tires this afternoon!"

"It is bae", she quaintly said while rubbing on Joshua's head. "But, suddenly, I felt the need to come and see about you," He gazed at her with amazement on his face and then curiously responded. "Soooo, how did you get here?"

"Well, one of my girlfriends drove me," Melinda alluringly said - while stepping back and twirling around slowly. She completed the turn -then stood and winked at him.

He went back about 3 ft and peered at her body and licked his lips. Melinda blushed, and eased up to him - then whispered, in his ear, "thank you lover!" She began stroking his inner thigh. Joshua swiftly and gently grabbed her hand. Then, he exclaimed, "ooooo baby!, please, not now - I'm chafed!"

She jokingly giggled, and then softly kissed him on the jaw. She took her hand away from his thigh, peered into his eyes and said, "Po' baby, you've been surviving the friction all day, huh?" Then, she kissed his other jaw and caringly spoke, "Don't worry bae - Let's go, I'll drive and you pray!"

The End.

So, did Sandra continue to pursue Joshua? She did and Joshua remained faithful to his wife Melinda.
