SENSING THE TRIGGER: THE CONVOLUTED MIND AT PLAY

On a boat, holding on to an urn, riding in fear,

The light through the dense mangroves seems to pave the way,

**

And the creeping scare knocks down the urn,

wrecking the ashes to burn on the dirt floor,

the debris to scratch open a crack in the boat,

**

The gut-wrenching moment, knowing,

life at its worst,

boat about to burst,

the repeated warning of the fall,

now completely drowned,

**

an ear to acknowledge, never listened,

an eye to respect, always pounced,

*********

The shame surrounding,

What a failure life has been.

Couldn't even fulfill the last desire of the lost soul,

**

The regret, too loud,

the rage, automatically bound,

stuck in the wilderness,

now anchored on the guilt,

**

The depth of the unfolding turbulence in the mind,

picking up even a fraction of sound,

****

THE PROCEDURE TO FOLLOW TO TRAIN THE MIND

Repeat,

be present,

be in the present,

**

Unloading the manuscript

Uploading it to the system to control the essence, the breath

STEP 1

Say, STOP (The command 'stop' pauses the mind for a second)

Now, BREATHE

AGAIN

STOP

BREATHE

1

EXHALE THROUGH THE MOUTH

MAKE A LOUD SOUND IF YOU WANT

WWWOOOOFFFFFFFF!!!

STEP 2

Let it fall,

Let it fail,

For once,

Let it be.

**

Don't blame the boat

Don't you dare shut down your throat,

**

CRY AS MUCH AS YOU WANT

There is not a single person around,

cry to your loudest voice,

let the echoes shiver through your storm,

**

SO

If you want to cry,

take a 25-minute break,

cry and come back,

If not, it is still okay,

Because the next stop is still not an escape,

Direct yourself to the next step.

STEP 3

Sit with the crack,

Stop judging,

Stop analysing,

**

STOP

BREATHE

G..LIT....CH......

Rising heart rate incoming.

RELAX

RELAX

REPEAT WITH A CONCIOUS MIND

Until the breath is inhaled with awareness

BREATHE

**

Now,

Why don't we take a different approach?

NOT A QUICK FIX BUT A TIMELY STITCH

STEP 4

No guarantee that it will work, but why not?

let this too fall,

We have been through failures before,

We can get through this as well,

**

Sit with the crack,

Stop judging,

Stop analysing,

**

It is okay to not be okay,

The thoughts don't stop,

Just let it be,

**

A crime isn't at play,

but a mind at a crucial stage,

don't find out the reason why,

don't chase for a solution,

don't feel guilty,

don't regret,

**

Pause,

...

Breathe,

let's feel the heartbeat,

a tap to ease,

anxiousness to unleash,

acknowledging the triggered creeks,

**

No rush, no push,

but slow and steady,

scan the surroundings at a slow pace,

**

It is quite a strength to become,

the tortoise in a race,

The most well-known moral story taught as a kid,

**

Pause,

...

Breathe

eyes wide open,

Just accept, a beauty in a mess is a win.

a deliberate fake smile too extends the chin,

**

Don't doubt the abilities,

Don't ever drown behind the field,

You are the essence of power in there to walk into a river,

Pat, that attitude of yours, a sportive one,

where one will fail, and one will win for sure,

Let the mess stand out as the way it is,

Let it stay

You will find a way.

**

The growth of life with wisdom applied in practical life is the biggest win.

**

BREATHE

3

...

2

...

1

...

THE PAUSE

Still restless,

It

is

okay,

The guide, Echo, took a minute away,

consider it a distraction, out of the triggered space,

when the body froze in the first place.

****

Don't be overwhelmed

Don't feed the fear,

say it out loud,

let your inner soul hear,

THIS TOO SHALL PASS,

You are all fine, my dear.

About the Creator

Parvathi J

Through my pages, I find the quiet complexities of pain dwelling in a solitary space, burdening life’s endless demands, and unburdening the voiceless noise.

Witnessing the questioning, I speak the deeper silence of my voice.
